Should UK Va**rs be Concerned?
You may have heard in the news recently about a spate of va**ng related hospital admissions and a number of deaths in the US. If you have and are a vaper, this may have caused concern. But is there really any need for British va**rs to panic?
According to a number of organisations in the UK, including Public Health England and Action on Smoking & Health, there is no reason for British va**rs to be troubled by the news coming from across the Atlantic. These organisations, along with some top University Professors have pointed to the stark contrast in ecigarette and eliquid regulations between the two countries.
Unlike the UK, where we have strict safety & quality regulations enforced by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, the US are lacking in safety standards meaning eliquids containing potentially dangerous and life-threatening ingredients are readily available.
“It seems highly unlikely that widely available nicotine-containing va**ng products, particularly of the type regulated in Europe, are causing these cases. All the evidence to date suggests that illicit ma*****na va**ng products (THC oils) are the cause. In particular, a compound called tocopherol acetate may be the culprit.”
