After over 8 years in Hunstanton High Street, we are now minimising our outgoing costs by launching an online only venture. This means that we can continue to make a difference to the lives of people in the Global South, while also using all profits made to support local causes and charities, through being a social enterprise.

To keep our overheads down and maximise income for our social enterprise, Gecko Gifts will be moving to online only from mid September. Our last trading day at the shop will be 4th September. We will be sad to leave our Hunstanton shop after 8 years but would like to thank every person that we have met through here. Some of our items are viewable through our collection only site www.mylocalgecko.co.uk while we update www.geckogifts.co.uk. We will continue to bring you unique and hand made items that make a difference to lives around the world. We thank you all for your continued support and look forward to doing future business with you. All the best!

Quick update for those of you waiting for My Local Gecko to go live:-
I am shattered. Unfortunately I suffer from seizures and they have been playing up for me over the last 24 hours, which has caused me to once again delay the launch BUT only until some point tomorrow (Tuesday 24th).
3rd time lucky and all that! 😎

Update! The sheer volume of work that is involved in getting everything ready on mylocalgecko.co.uk has meant that while nearly ready, we are just adding the final details and checking everything is in perfect working order before 'going live'. We think it may be sensible to launch on Monday 23rd, instead of today, to ensure that we have tried and tested everything out first and to make sure we haven't embarrassed ourselves too much with things like spelling errors etc! That said, if we do miss anything, please do let us know - it would be much appreciated!

Hello all! :D

We hope you are well and keeping safe and happy!
Some positive news from us this evening of Friday 13th November 2020... :D

We have a new click and collect website :-

www.mylocalgecko.co.uk

This is currently being built and is nearing completion, with the aim of having every item we sell on it!

Launch date is next Friday 20th November! Please let us know what you think of it!

With My Local Gecko, items can be paid for through the website or on collection if you prefer (both cash and card accepted, although card is a preference in the current times).

We will update the new site with collection slots but are flexible if you have an emergency purchase!

The collection site will continue to run both during and after lockdown/s. We hope that this will help enable those who would otherwise feel at risk entering a premises to feel just as included as everyone else. We want to help protect our community because YOU are important to us. :-)

My Local Gecko was being built originally to provide a service to those who felt unsafe entering shops but the 2nd lockdown has brought a fresh urgency to its completion.

We hope you like it!
