I really enjoyed designing this cover artwork for (Eco)vocative Objects: Things that Engage with Environmental Issues, a new book and exhibition emerging from the MA STEM Education programme at King’s College London.

Close-up photographs were taken of each individual creation featured in the book, capturing textures, materials, and traces of making. These images were then assembled into a digital patchwork, bringing together diverse practices, materials, and stories into a single composite image. 
 
This patchwork was overlaid onto an image of the globe, situating these creations within an environmental context and emphasising the global dimensions of the socio-ecological issues explored in the book. Additional vintage paper textures were incorporated into the design to evoke a sense of tactility, echoing the handmade qualities of many of the objects themselves. The resulting image operates not simply as a representation, but as an (eco)vocative object in its own right.
