Established in 2007, we sell an ethical range of locally hand crafted and fairly traded gifts made from eco-friendly and recycled materials - something different for everyone! We also have a fantastic refillery with over 200 individual products that you can refill - from herbs, spices and health and beauty products to eco-friendly household cleaning products. We know it's only September, but you've been asking, especially those of you who like to post calendars overseas so they are on the stand with the books in our stationery department 😉

On another animal theme - Stan has some brilliant news to share about one of the collection tubs on our counter. The NewArc have counted up all the pennies in it and there was a whopping £75.33 in there!! Well done to everyone who has dropped their loose change into their tub 👏

A special customer today ... this is Karina, a 5 year old barn owl with a liking for malachite 🦉

After choosing a crystal, she enjoyed a tour of the shop. She was particularly interested in what was in our big cupboard 🤓

After a thorough investigation, she spent some time talking to our other customers, before purchasing her crystal and leaving 🛍

Oh my word, what an absolute privilage it was to hold her and walk her around. She was so well behaved and chattered away just lovely. Such an incredibly beautiful bird 💖

It's little surprises like this that makes an ordinary day so special 🦉🥰

More chocolate, but not for us this time. This delivery is heading to the school (TGS) for their Fairtrade Fortnight events 🌍

We did, however, top-up our own chocolate supplies and ... ordered one case each of dark and milk chocolate advent calendars 🎄

One hundred and nineteen refills today!! ♻️🌍

Our previous record was way back in 2024 when we managed 117 refills in one day.

It's taken two years to beat, but today you did it 💪

Here's a rare behind-the-scenes photo of our tiny wee store room which is packed to the rafters with packets, tins and jars full of all your favourites, ready for tomorrow's Hairst. We really couldn't get anymore in there! Bear with us if you need something from in there - it may take us a while to find it 🙈

We're not quite Hairst ready, but I'm sure it'll be all right on the day🤞

Tomorrow, we will open an hour earlier than normal. Martyn has to help set up the Rotary stall, so I will open our door to customers at 8.30am. See you tomorrow! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

Lewis of Crafted Comforts has restocked his wax melts, candles, and other bits n bobs - Martyn went to collect our order from him yesterday🕯

He also went to collect our order of oats from Boyndie aka Hamlyns🌾

We did get a big sack of flour in today, but Deveron Projects have taken it, so we only have around 1kg of strong white bread flour now until next Thursday 🍞

Andy made sure we have plenty of his runny and soft set honey - it's local to this area and incredibly tasty🍯

And Kate popped in with a restock of Neptune's Coffee and some of her own crafty items too Barking Mad Textiles☕️🧶

We've a new range of cards in ...

They are prints of original pastel paintings that have been done by Jeanette - known locally as "Jeanette-the-vet" as she was Huntly's vet until she retired last year.

They are lovely and we're very pleased to have them in our card section alongside the many other locally hand made cards.
