People are trying to be positive about our little town and do positive things. The only trouble is it will take you the public to support it so if you live in Hyde or nearby get yourself into town this Sat.
We now have new shops in the shopping centre granted may not be multinational brands but at least people are investing. Give them your support so they stay instead of just saying they are not the shops you want as any full shops are better than empty shops and people have invested sometimes their life’s savings to open them. We are lucky in many ways that we don’t have as many empty shops as the likes of Ashton and Stockport

Another old Yamaha sax saved n restored to playing order with a good service. Fortunately we managed to replace some pads n restore the others without needing a full costly repad.

Our opening hours for the next two weeks will be limited due to various staff holidays and appointments.

A great coarse at a fabulous collage to learn the skills to earn a living in the fabulous trades of musical instrument making restoration or repair.
This is about the only decent coarse left in the country that turns out properly qualified craftsmen. It is so much better than these one two or three day coarses that are being run around the country. They are ok for people to get a basic taster into this trade but nothing beats proper tuition in fully equipped workshops in a lovely area.

After 44 years of customers calling or knocking on door at all times of day or night seven days week I still haven’t worked out why people would phone a small family business or knock on the shop door at 1am& 2am in a morning or on a Sunday. We are officially closed sun & mon but just had a customer decided to txt me at 1.03am waking me up. So if I am not on the ball today (Tues) it’s not my fault.
Not amused. 😒. If you need to call or txt me please do so at reasonable working hours.

Coming up tomorrow is a unique trumpet customised by someone’s Grandad who thought he had come up with a unique modification to make a transposing trumpet that could transpose into various keys at the tug of a tube.

During the summer hols we get all kinds of instruments in from the schools. It always makes me wonder what they do with them when so many finish up in this condition.
Perhaps it’s yet another one which is falling apart after Grandad/Dad tried to get the stuck mouthpiece out.
What could be a simple cheap job becomes much bigger and more expensive if trying to pull stuck mouthpieces out by twisting in a vice or door jamb.
