Ok!

Here we have an early 60’s Futurama Jumbo acoustic guitar.

This was Hagstrom’s foray into the acoustic market.

It’s got to be said that it ain’t no Martin! But it is what it is and barring the strings it’s all original.

It’s got little bumps and scrapes you’d expect for guitar that’s nearly 60 years old.

The action is quite high at the 12th fret.

The bridge has a small gap but it is solid as I’ve had the dots out and tightened the screws (original brass) that hold the bridge down.

I’ve strung it up with 10’s and left it for a couple of weeks after stretching in and it has held tune.

The tuners all work and a couple have slight bends on the shafts, this is not unusual for a guitar of this age. In fact it’s unusual for them not to have broken!

The neck is straight, the frets are good and there is only one fret marker missing.

I’m pretty sure the top is laminate as the lip of the sound hole is painted black.

The back and sides are also probably laminate too.

It plays pretty well and sounds quite full with no rattles or buzzes.

Tapping the body sounds solid with no loose struts.

All in all, it is what it is, an economy 60 year old guitar.

It’s not everyday you wire up a canoe paddle........... I’ve got to admit it’s a first! I’d like to see it finished, especially with a pike lure for a bridge! Beyond original! 😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸

Epiphone Sheraton. Great guitar. In good condition with hard case. 1989 Korean made. 5 piece sandwich neck and frets in really good order. All original hardware.
Looking to swap for bog standard fender tele.
It’s up for sale too. Sensible offers only. I’ll ignore vastly underpriced stupidity!
