👑 Prince William is in Devon today with huge news for Dartmoor!
The Prince of Wales has arrived in the remote village of Princetown to launch The Princetown Community Fund, revealing a massive cash injection of at least £250,000. The brand-new regeneration fund will provide local groups and organisations with grants ranging from £500 up to £40,000 to support social, economic, and environmental projects right across the area.
This major investment comes after William took a stand to stop personally benefiting from the controversial £1.5 million annual rent generated by the now-empty Dartmoor Prison. Instead of receiving the money through his Duchy of Cornwall income, the future king instructed for the cash to be redirected straight back into breathing new life into the local moorland community.
During his visit today, William is heading to Gather & Moor - a newly developed community and cultural hub in the heart of the village - as well as visiting local heritage business Princetown Press. He is also spending time at the village youth club to see firsthand how recent Duchy funding has upgraded facilities and expanded activities for local kids and young people.
