Firstly, thanks to everyone who’s liked and followed our page so far and filled out the survey. It’s been wonderful to see such a positive and enthusiastic response to going zero waste and we’re even more excited to get the store up and running! Please continue to share our page and survey with family and friends as well to help get the word out.
Secondly, today is day 1 of the annual Zero Waste Week. The theme this year is about reducing food waste, with Monday’s task being to create an Eat Me First shelf in your fridge. The idea is to have a look at all the food in your fridge and find anything that’s going out of date in the next day or two. Gather all this food on one shelf and eat that food first when planning meals and snacks!
Another part of the challenge is to keep a piece of paper by the bin and, throughout this week, make a list of all the food you throw out. It’s a great way to see how well you’re doing so far at being zero waste and possibly spot areas for improvement.
