⚡ Well… that brought the workshop to an early finish!

Unfortunately, we had to close a little earlier than planned today after losing power to the workshop.

Turns out it wasn’t something as simple as a fuse either… the digging team has now been called in to find the fault and restore power to both our unit and next door. 🫣

Hopefully everything will be back up and running tomorrow, but there may be a few delays while we get ourselves caught back up.

Apologies to anyone affected — we’ll keep you updated!

An R34 GT-R in the workshop is always a good day! 🇯🇵🔥

This Nissan Skyline GT-R came to us for a complete refresh of its aftermarket audio system.

We removed the ageing Kenwood radio and replaced it with a Pioneer DA77, along with a TV tuner at the customer’s request.

In the boot, the JL Audio W6 had sadly reached the end of its life, with the surround beginning to perish. This was replaced with a Hertz Mille Pro 10-inch subwoofer.

The existing amplifier wiring was sketchy, to say the least… So we stripped it back, completely rewired it, secured everything properly and protected the new cabling inside conduit.

While working through the car, we also discovered a tracker that wasn’t particularly well hidden. That has now been relocated somewhere far more discreet—and no, we won’t be showing where! 👀

A much cleaner, safer and more reliable installation, with modern entertainment and plenty of bass—all while keeping this Japanese icon looking right.

🇿🇦 A little bit of South Africa in the workshop today…

This 1982 Mercedes 280E joined us today for a replacement radio installation, bringing a little more modern usability while keeping things sympathetic to the character of the car.

And we’re not finished with this one yet…

It’s already booked back in next week for an additional immobiliser to add some modern security to this 44-year-old Mercedes. 🔐

Always nice having something a little different in the workshop. 👌

We had this brand-new Volkswagen ID. Buzz in the workshop yesterday after the customer’s insurance company requested an S5-approved tracking system.

We fitted a Scorpion S5 VTS tracker, supplied with the first year’s subscription included.

Just over three hours went into the installation, covertly installing it out of sight. this Tracker comes with two driver recognition tags, so the tracking company knows who's driving the Vehicle.

🔊 Sometimes better sound isn’t about changing the speakers…

This Range Rover L405 came to us last week with a few unwanted rattles becoming noticeable when the audio system was turned up.

We stripped the doors down and treated them with Skinz sound deadening, using Skinz Ultimat in key areas to help control panel vibration.

While we were in there, we also found a few additional rattles caused by panels that hadn’t been refitted particularly well in the past — so we sorted those at the same time. 👌

The customer ended up collecting slightly earlier than planned on Saturday after my lunch took an unexpected turn involving a wooden fork and a trip to hospital… 😂🤦‍♂️

Not quite how I expected to finish the week!

🔧 One of those days where no two jobs were the same…

Today’s workshop lineup looked like this:

✅ Volkswagen Transporter T6 – Rear fader coding, plus a few extra faults found and rectified during diagnostics.

✅ Ford Ka+ – Airbag warning light causing an MOT failure. Traced to a broken wire behind the dashboard and repaired.

✅ Volvo – Premium Sound system completely offline. Diagnostics got the audio back up and running, with the vehicle now booked in to resolve the remaining faults.

✅ Volkswagen Transporter T6.1 – Audison DRC retrofit, plus a customer mentioned a door rattle. A quick investigation found the window regulator just touching the inner door skin. A small adjustment and some additional sound deadening… problem solved. 👌

This is exactly why we enjoy diagnostics. Sometimes customers arrive with one fault, and by taking the time to investigate properly, they leave with several problems solved.

A Porsche 911, a Pioneer radio and one missing feature… a reverse camera. 📸

This 911 Cabriolet came into the workshop today after its new owner asked us to add a reverse camera to the aftermarket Pioneer system already fitted.

Being a convertible, routing everything correctly takes a little longer than it would on a coupe—but that wasn’t a problem.

Around 3.5 hours later, the camera was installed, tested and working exactly as it should, giving the driver a clear view behind the car whenever reverse is selected.

A clean, practical upgrade that makes everyday driving and parking that bit easier. 👌
