🔊 This BMW i3 came in sounding a little underwhelming… it definitely didn’t leave that way.

We had this BMW i3 in the workshop today for a complete audio system upgrade.

The original setup was pretty lacking across the board, so rather than just changing a pair of speakers, we gave the whole system a proper overhaul.

At the heart of the system we fitted the Audison M5.11 Forza amplifier/DSP, giving us the power and control needed to properly tune everything to the car.

✅ Hertz Mille Pro speaker upgrade
✅ Skinz Pro Black sound deadening
✅ Hertz Mille Pro shallow 10” subwoofer

The doors were treated with Skinz Pro Black while the Hertz Mille Pro speakers took care of the front end.

To finish it off, we added the shallow 10” Mille Pro subwoofer to bring in the low-end bass the original system was seriously missing.

The difference is massive — much cleaner, more controlled and finally some proper bass without turning the i3 into a boot full of audio equipment. 👌

📹 Our demo Q7 has had a little upgrade… and this one is here for you to come and have a look at.

Social media has been a bit quieter than normal recently. The workshop has been busy and I’ve had a few things going on in the background personally, so I haven’t had much time to sit down and actually post what we’ve been up to.

One of the jobs we’ve managed to get done though is fitting an Integrated Automotive I-VR dashcam into our own Audi Q7 demo vehicle.

We wanted one fitted to the Q7 so customers can actually come down, see how discreet these cameras are once installed and have a proper look at how everything works before deciding what’s right for their vehicle.

🖐️ Quick update first — I’m back at hospital tomorrow morning, so I won’t be in the workshop until late morning or possibly the afternoon.

Turns out the accidental stabbing of my hand now needs a little bit of plastic surgery, so hopefully I’ll know more after tomorrow.

Anyway… back to the cars. 👇

We’ve currently got back-to-back Porsches in the workshop.

First up is a 997 Carrera in for sound deadening, helping to reduce unwanted road noise and make the cabin a nicer place to be.

Next to it is this 996 Turbo S, which decided it no longer wanted to start after the customer pulled out to wash the car.

After a good few hours of diagnostics, testing and tracing the fault through the car, we’ve finally found the problem.

The good news is it’s running again.

The slightly less exciting bit is now putting everything we had to take apart back together. 😅

Two very different jobs on two very different Porsches, but both exactly the sort of work we get stuck into here.

🔒 Looking for a smarter way to protect your vehicle? Something new is coming…

We’ve been chosen by one of our suppliers to trial and give feedback on a completely new style of immobiliser and tracking system.

It’s a system we will be offering, but first we’ll be putting it through some proper real-world testing and feeding our findings back to the supplier.

We can’t say too much about how it works just yet, but from what we’ve seen so far, this could be a bit of a game changer for vehicle security.

For us, being involved at this stage means we can properly understand the system, test it ourselves and make sure we know exactly what we’re offering before it starts going into customer vehicles.

Really looking forward to getting our hands on it and seeing what it can do. 👀

📹 Dashcams don’t have to look like dashcams anymore.

We’re now offering the Integrated Automotive range of discreet dashcams, and for anyone who hates having a camera stuck to the windscreen, these are a bit of a game changer.

The camera is built neatly into the rear-view mirror housing, keeping the windscreen much clearer with no wires hanging down or a big camera on show.

Another big advantage is that they’re much harder to simply unplug. With a normal windscreen-mounted camera it’s very easy for someone to disconnect it when the car goes in for an MOT or service and forget to reconnect it afterwards.

🖐️ A quick update from me first…

I’m still recovering after putting a tool through my hand on Friday, and hopefully today I’ll find out a bit more about whether the feeling in my finger is going to return properly.

At the moment I’m not 100% sure whether I’ll make it into the workshop today, but I’ll keep everyone updated once I know more.

In the meantime, here’s one we managed to get finished earlier in the week. 👇

🔊 This 2014 Audi TT came in for a much-needed radio upgrade.

We removed the original factory radio and replaced it with a Pioneer DA77DAB, bringing the system a bit more up to date while making sure we retained the important bits already in the car.

✅ DAB radio
✅ Factory Bose audio system retained

A nice upgrade that gives the TT much more modern functionality without losing the Bose system or steering wheel controls.

Hopefully I’ll have a better idea later today what’s happening with the hand and when I’ll be properly back at it. 👍

⚠️ Quick workshop update.

Unfortunately I’ve had to make an unexpected trip to hospital today after accidentally putting a tool through my hand while working.

I’ve lost some feeling in part of my hand and fingers, so I’m getting it properly checked out.

This may cause some delays with jobs, messages and appointments depending on what the hospital says.

I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more.

We had this 2022 Fiat 500e in the workshop for a reverse camera retrofit.

The car already had factory parking sensors, but the customer wanted a bit more confidence when reversing and being able to actually see what was behind the car rather than relying on the sensors alone.

We fitted a discreet reverse camera and integrated it neatly into the car, giving the customer that extra bit of reassurance when parking or manoeuvring.

A nice little upgrade that makes the car that bit easier to live with day to day. 👌

🚀 Sometimes one car in the household makes the other one feel a little… slow.

We had this 2018 Mercedes GLA 220d in today for one of our regular customers. This is actually the second vehicle we’ve worked on for them.

After spending some time driving their BMW 240, they came back to the GLA and decided it was feeling a tad gutless in comparison. 😅

So we gave it a bit more get up and go.

✅ 175bhp ➡️ 235bhp
✅ 340Nm ➡️ 415Nm

That’s an extra 60bhp and 75Nm of torque, which makes a pretty substantial difference to the way the GLA drives and responds.

Still the same practical diesel Mercedes — just with a bit more punch when you put your foot down. 👌

This 2026 BMW 340i was in the workshop for a dashcam upgrade, but the customer wanted something that wasn’t going to look stuck onto the windscreen.

We fitted the Integrated Automotive 4K discreet dashcam, which replaces the original rear-view mirror housing and keeps everything looking like it belongs there.

✅ Sony STARVIS image sensor
✅ Wi-Fi app connectivity
✅ Parking mode
✅ Discreet OEM-style installation

It’s a really neat solution for newer BMWs — all the protection of a dashcam without having a separate camera hanging from the windscreen.

Once fitted, unless you know it’s there, you’d probably never notice it. 👌
