🥇🌿 A Gold Award for ‘The Kitchen Garden’ 🌿🥇
We were proud to sponsor ‘The Kitchen Garden’ by Nick Chambers at the North Scotland Garden Show and even prouder to see it take joint first place and a Gold Award! 🏆
Nick, who has been a horticulture lecturer at Moray College for over 20 years, created a garden that blurred the lines between indoors and outdoors. His vision was simple but clever, bringing everyday kitchen elements into the garden space while celebrating the productive gardens many of us have right outside our doors!
The garden featured herbs and vegetables grown by his own students — several of whom came to see the finished garden in person — alongside honeysuckle, lavender, rosemary, bay trees, plum trees and alliums sourced from us at Simpsons at Fochabers!
Sustainability was a huge part of the project. White goods and furniture were donated or rescued from the tip, the perennials were replanted after the show and the bedding plants will be composted, ensuring very little goes to waste! ♻️
The project took around six months to bring to life. A huge congratulations to Nick! It was a pleasure to support such a creative and award-winning garden. Smashed it! 🥳
