Hay, todays product review is the Pro Levelling Knife from Smart Grooming I have used this tool to shorten my mane for years and tidy the top and sides of a "pulled" tail. They last ages, and if your mane is the right thickness they are brilliant to shorten to the desired length. I use it on all my pony's. 1 tip I have with them is try in the winter before you do it the night before a show. Larry (our Connemara) Toby (ISH) and Lola (yearling section A) can have their manes shortened with it the night before and it looks very natural but Nala my 5 year old section a who has very straight mane needs a couple of weeks to settle as with our natives we want to create a natural finish. £16.28 each its a tool I always have in my grooming kit. I give it 8.5/10.🐴

Hay, a huge well done to everyone I know who was at the Royal Highland Show this year. Thanks to all my family who coordinated the entries, packed the box, looked after the ponies at home, supported at the ringside, friends who groomed and got me drunk the night before and thankyou so much for all the good luck messages and words that you all gave to me before I went and after!! 6th place for our Active Larry!!!! We are absolutely delighted. Just goes to show that anyone can do it if you put your mind to it and if you have a team of amazing family and friends behind you it definitely helps. Congratulations to everyone again x🐴

Hay, so todays product review is Joint Aid for dogs. Daisy is going to be 9 this year so I have found that she has started to get a bit stiff. I put her on the maintenance dose and if she is a little more stiff she gets it doubled until she feels better. I really find that this helps her and I used it on my last dog Holly. It comes with a scoop and you just add it into the food which Daisy eats no problem at all. At £17.00 for 500g, a dog Daisy's size (27kg) this will last about 7 weeks. I'm going to give it 9/10. I wouldn't be without it🐴

Hay, todays product review is Arma Overreach boots. Available in pony size to XXF. I had to start putting these on Toby as I did not want to keep phoning the farrier to replace his shoes when he was playing about in the big field. I was worried about them rubbing as he has sensitive skin but they did not make a mark. I give these 8/10 as in heavy mud the velcro can get clogged up but I washed them in the washing machine, they do make a noise when he walks but I went up a size so they touch the ground to protect his shoes, feet and my bank balance. Priced between £10.99 and £13.99 they save your pocket and I would recommend 3 pairs over the winter 1 for wearing, 1 for washing and 1 for replacing when they fall off!!!!🐴

Hay, todays product review is Protection Plus by Carr & Day & Martin. I used this on Toby's cut he got somewhere in the field and in 2 days it had healed (you can see it in the pic) I have used it on his mud fever and it cleared it up in 3 days!!! I highly recommend this product for cuts and grazes. It has citronella to keep the fly's away. I will definitely always have a tub of this in my grooming kit and because he has pink skinned heels when the ground gets wetter I will be applying it daily to prevent more mud fever. I like the fact it goes on red so you can tell by looking where you have got it and when to reapply. £12.96 for 500g is real value for money the only negative I have is you need to scrub your hands after to get rid of it. I give this 9.5/10

Hay, todays product review is Smart Grooming Platting Wax. Yesterday was the first time I used a platting wax ( I usually use human hair gel from tesco thats £1 a bottle) I really liked the fact that you use the stick on the hair, it didn't really stick to my hands as I was platting and kept all the fly away hairs at bay. I did not wash his mane so the stick did get a bit dirty. Its a handy size so doesn't take up much room, Its priced at £9.95 and think I would get another so I have 1 for when I bath and 1 for when I don't. I give this 8/10. 🐴

Hay, todays product review is the Schimmel brush from Hass. This is a great brush to have in both your everyday grooming kit and your Show basket as the tightly packed natural coconut fibres are great for getting rid of sweat marks when you take your saddle off and for getting your socks back to a white colour if you are riding on a surface. It has a synthetic water resistant back which helps when washing it. Due to the brush having firm bristles if you use it on the body it can help with circulation. This is really a brush I rely on for the show ring. We have them for sale at £10.50 and due to the high quality they last for ages. I'm going to give it a 9.5 out of 10 and the only reason its not getting a 10 is it only comes in the 1 colour!🐴
