FINAL preparations are being made by organisers to stage a very popular Moorlands agricultural show.
The 74th Ipstones Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday, August 29th at the recreation ground located off Church Lane.
The day will start with pony classes at 9am. However, there will be no jumping classes due to the hard ground. Judging of heavy horses, cattle, sheep and goats will begin at 10am.
The official opening will take place at 12pm by Judy Scott-Moncrieff.
Organisers have put together a wide range of entertainment for all the family led by the Mountain Bike Aerial Display Team.
The team has wowed crowds worldwide since 1996 and has the UK's top riders including former World and British Champions. Visitors will be amazed with flips, spins, hops, balancing tricks and other stunts.
They will be joined in the main ring attractions by the Mighty Smith Strongman Show.
Adrian Smith, 5th in the World's Strongest Man and three times Winner of UK's Strongest Man Competition, presents a show geared for family fun with visual humour and audience participation.
Other attractions include fancy dress parade; horticultural exhibition and competition; craft tent; dog show; Punch and Judy show; fairground; Memorial Hall exhibitions; chain saw sculpturing; Band; dog agility competition; a poultry and pets exhibition (subject to bird flu regulations) along with Unconventional Menagerie (exotic animals).
A large number of trade stands will also feature all over the site along with a licensed bar and caterers.
Advanced tickets are now available online. Adults £8; senior citizens (65 plus) £7; children £4; family ticket (two adults and three children) £25.
On the day tickets are adults £10; senior citizens (65 plus) £9; children £5; under five years free.
Car parking for visitors is free.
