We still offer Shoe Repairs in our Felixstowe shop as well as Ipswich. We originally had a Shoe Finisher in both but took the Felixstowe one out several years ago.

Tony is our Master Cobbler in our Ipswich shop with the help from Derek, our shoe machine. They are done in a separate ventilated room which keeps any dirty dust and smells away from the main shop area. Nobody wants to leave their watches or trophies in an unclean environment and especially not buy things off nearby shelves.

He is conscientious and always takes pride in his work to do a really good job. When done, they are bagged up and put away to keep tidy and safe in a cupboard awaiting collection.
He always wears an apron to protect his clothes and so is always clean to serve customers. It is part of personal cleanliness and aligns with our modern image. Gone are the days of a dirty train station Cobblers with no washroom facilities!

We still take repairs in at Felixstowe as we have a daily pick up and drop off between both shops. We can do heels, soles, toes, stilettos and other glue work. We only take in work that we know we can do properly as a lot of shoes, boots and sandals are now moulded soles. They normally cannot be done although some places will do them. They just simply will not last and need to be regularly reglued. We are keen to keep our valued reputation for lasting quality not quick fixes.

We have several regular customers including a lovely lady who has been using us since we opened our very first shop in Ipswich. She loves shoes and regularly brings us a bag of stilettos. Now a good friend, it is really nice to chat when she comes in as she has literally seen our son grow up.

Both shops also have an extensive range of shoe care products including insoles, polish, protector and cleaning sprays, brushes, shoe laces, shoe horns, heels grips and even some blakeys!

Another big part of the services we offer is watch repairs. Every day we change several watch batteries and cut numerous keys, all while you wait. We just don't like to boast about it. We have a clean designated watch counter so our experienced staff can work on your watches with precision and care.

We only use Renata Swiss made batteries as they are well known for their quality. Unlike other places who may use cheaper ones that simply don't last.
Our straps are all genuine leather and we have a large range of colours and sizes. We also have a selection of various pins and buckles so we can fix your watch if these are broken.

Another service we offer is watch or bracelet link adjustments so you always have the perfect fit. We get a variety of these in, especially as metal straps on new watches tend to be on the larger size.

We can also change car key fob batteries, again using the right tools and only quality batteries. If you're having to get closer or press the button more then it probably needs a new battery. We have a Battery Testing Machine so always check before changing.

Customers sometimes say that their previous battery hasn't lasted but we can see that it is a cheaper one not fitted by us. Or small parts are missing so the battery doesn't connect properly. Sometimes the back is scratched or not on straight or watch link adjustments not reconnected. For all watch and car fob work, we have invested in a wide selection of professional tools. We have the experience and the equipment to do the job right. Although we often have to redo or finish off work done elsewhere or where someone has tried to fix it themselves.

Plus we sell batteries. We have a lot of household and button cell batteries including CR, AA, AAA ones used for clocks, kitchen and bathroom scales, smoke alarms etc.

Engraving including trophies, awards and pet tags, have always been a big part of our business. We have been doing it as long as key cutting and well known to be Master Engravers with high standards. All our work is done in designated areas so your items are always looked after and kept clean away from any dirty dust. 🏆🛡️🎖️

We always buy quality engraving machines that are UK manufactured from respectable and well known UK companies. We also prefer to use the well known and trusted way of diamond tip engraving. This gives a much better quality and long lasting deep clean cut.

With various machines in both shops we are able to do cylindrical and curved items like cups, tankards, pewter, pocket watches, zippo lighters, glassware, cufflinks, whistles and even garden trowels, all with precision and consistency. As well as shields, salvers, plaques, plates, awards, medals and also brass plates for outside memorials such as benches. We can even engrave logos! Our pet tags are always popular as we have a wide choice of shapes, sizes, colours and designs.

People have come to us who have had work done elsewhere that they have not been happy with. Inconsistent as maybe done in haste or too fine as done by laser to save time. From our experience, lasers may be quicker but they are not always better for the things we do, especially with the cheaper machines. We have higher standards as we want our customers to go away happy that our work is done properly.

We can also supply and engrave any trophies and awards that you want as we have up to date trophy catalogues to order from. There is a vast choice available in all shapes, sizes and budgets, plus we keep a range of trophies in stock if you are needing something more urgent. A lot of our work is for schools and sports clubs as well as for individuals, including repeat work as names get added each year. We always give a VAT receipt and can invoice if you're a business.

Key Cutting is our main trade and we are well known in the area for probably having the largest selection of key blanks in town. If we don't have it then nobody else does. 🔑🗝️🔐

We have a wide choice on our 40+ key boards full of filled pegs in Felixstowe and 26+ boards in Ipswich. In both shops we have invested in various quality key cutting machines to cut all types of keys with precision and accuracy. This includes household, dimple, security, window, gate, locker, padlock, car, motorbike, electric bike, industrial, tractor, mobility scooter, caravan, boat and even plane. Plus if we don't have the right blank in stock then we can order it in.

With car keys, we can do duplicate keys, replacement batteries as well as replacement fobs. We keep a large range of parts in stock. We also have lots of keyrings, various designs and colours of key caps, key tags and carabiners plus plenty of different sizes of split rings, including the larger jailer rings.

We do occasionally get customers come to us for keys who may have tried elsewhere, but they cannot do it. That is partly because they have limited stock, we have a great wall of keys! Our three key cutters have over 70 years of experience so can pool their knowledge to sort out even the trickiest of keys. Or we can point you in the right direction if it has do be done by the source supplier, at a main dealer or by an auto locksmith.

We are always busy with key cutting and are competitively priced with our keys starting at just £3. We are always up to date on the latest key releases, yes that is a thing. All our various machines are kept clean and well maintained which helps keep them running properly and accurately. Both our Multicode computerised machines are great with high security dimple and track keys.

Also as we are professionally run, we guarantee our keys and always give VAT receipts. We offer bulk discount and if you are a business we can set up credit accounts.

Please read all this post as it is to show our shop history and how long we have been doing what we do.

In 2002 we took over a tired dirty shop in Ipswich. It had been a thriving Shoe Repairers and Key Cutters since the 1980's but the previous owner had run it down. As Danny had over 10 years experience in this trade, he transformed it back to the clean successful shop it used to be.

But with ambition to progress and advance, you cannot stay in the same little shop. And nobody wants overflow work being done at home so in 2007 we took on a 2nd shop in Ipswich. This was much bigger with retail space but needed everything completely new.

Then in 2008 we came across a much larger shop on the main high street in Felixstowe so relocated our 2nd shop there. This was a big step enabling us to have more retail space, more keys, more machinery and provide more services. Being in two towns advanced us to a much more professional level.
That was 114 Hamilton Road and is where we still are!

Soon the business in our original Ipswich shop was outgrowing the building so in 2011 we moved to a larger and more prominent corner shop in the same parade.

But then an opportunity came up in 2021 to move it once again. This was even bigger and better and in a busier location with more parking. Again we could have more keys, more machinery and offer more services.
That was 338 Nacton Road and is where we still are!

So that is our shop history! A lot of work setting them up and also maintaining, revamping and refreshing over the years. We are proud of what we have done and continue to achieve with our two shops and experienced team.

Wow we have so many key boards and pegs of different keys! Household, dimple, security, window, gate, locker, padlock, car, motorcycle, electric bike, industrial, tractor, mobility scooter, caravan, boat and plane! This is the main wall of 26 boards with more around the corner. It looks like the shop fitting was coming along nicely this time four years ago too.

It looks like we were busy this time 4 years ago, fitting out our new shop evenings and weekends on top of working full time. We've never paid experts to shop fit, just us and initially help from family and friends. As we've had 5 different shops over the 23 years with various refits too, Danny is quite an expert at it now! Especially with planning, fitting slat wall, peg boards, building cupboards, fitting worktops and painting. A real family team effort with shop removals too, especially moving heavy machinery and pe***ng up hundreds and hundreds of keys!
