It's been real teamwork today as more stock came in!

One box delivered of locks and keys for stock and customer orders placed.
Three big boxes for several orders of various trophies and cups, most of which need engraving.
Two are urgent orders so it's taken all four of us between both shops to get this all done.

Also nice to see that at least big sister and little brother both supported red today.

Just a quick thank you to everyone for making it through a hot week.

Our team didn't close early, and in fact worked extra hours to make sure our customers were happy. Both shops got hotter every day and despite us doing everything we could, today King's of Ipswich reached 36 inside and King's of Felixstowe 30. Surprisingly though today was busier than yesterday in both of them so this obviously didn't deter people.

Now we are all at home cooling down hoping for storms to break this weather!

We still offer Shoe Repairs in our Felixstowe shop as well as Ipswich. We originally had a Shoe Finisher in both but took the Felixstowe one out several years ago.

Tony is our Master Cobbler in our Ipswich shop with the help from Derek, our shoe machine. They are done in a separate ventilated room which keeps any dirty dust and smells away from the main shop area. Nobody wants to leave their watches or trophies in an unclean environment and especially not buy things off nearby shelves.

He is conscientious and always takes pride in his work to do a really good job. When done, they are bagged up and put away to keep tidy and safe in a cupboard awaiting collection.
He always wears an apron to protect his clothes and so is always clean to serve customers. It is part of personal cleanliness and aligns with our modern image. Gone are the days of a dirty train station Cobblers with no washroom facilities!

We still take repairs in at Felixstowe as we have a daily pick up and drop off between both shops. We can do heels, soles, toes, stilettos and other glue work. We only take in work that we know we can do properly as a lot of shoes, boots and sandals are now moulded soles. They normally cannot be done although some places will do them. They just simply will not last and need to be regularly reglued. We are keen to keep our valued reputation for lasting quality not quick fixes.

We have several regular customers including a lovely lady who has been using us since we opened our very first shop in Ipswich. She loves shoes and regularly brings us a bag of stilettos. Now a good friend, it is really nice to chat when she comes in as she has literally seen our son grow up.

Both shops also have an extensive range of shoe care products including insoles, polish, protector and cleaning sprays, brushes, shoe laces, shoe horns, heels grips and even some blakeys!

Another big part of the services we offer is watch repairs. Every day we change several watch batteries and cut numerous keys, all while you wait. We have a clean designated watch counter so our experienced staff can work on your watches with precision and care.

We only use Renata Swiss made batteries as they are well known for their quality. Unlike other places who may use cheaper ones that simply don't last.
Our straps are all genuine leather and we have a large range of colours and sizes. We also have a selection of various pins and buckles so we can fix your watch if these are broken.

Another service we offer is watch or bracelet link adjustments so you always have the perfect fit. We get a variety of these in, especially as metal straps on new watches tend to be on the larger size.

We can also change car key fob batteries, again using the right tools and only quality batteries. If you're having to get closer or press the button more then it probably needs a new battery. We have a Battery Testing Machine so always check before changing.

Customers sometimes say that their previous battery hasn't lasted but we can see that it is a cheaper one not fitted by us. Or small parts are missing so the battery doesn't connect properly. Sometimes the back is scratched or not on straight or watch link adjustments not reconnected. For all watch and car fob work, we have invested in a wide selection of professional tools. We have the experience and the equipment to do the job right.

Plus we sell batteries. We have a lot of household and button cell batteries including CR, AA, AAA ones used for clocks, kitchen and bathroom scales, smoke alarms etc.
