And making its 4th appearance since Saturday … The Lantern & the Labyrinth by the one and only Thomas Taylor

Welcome back Thomas!!! It’s been a long time coming, but boy has it been worth the wait.

Staggeringly brilliant tale of dreamlands and sprites and hobwitches and elementals and familiars, and of Tom. dear Tom. And Of Great. And Persie. Oh and the lantern. And the labyrinth.

Truly wonderful world-building and a story that is epic in scope and scale.

Once again, it’s Thomas’ writing that you can’t help but love and rejoice in. It’s the way he tells the story, and the way he plays with words and language.

Oh and I found the Easter egg. And I never find the Easter egg.

Back in Ye Olde Days, when I should have been focusing on shelves and books and other bookshop related doings, di****ad here decided to carpet and wallpaper the room upstairs and turn it into an office.

Not only that, but I had the biggest and most unnecessary desk, pot plants, a coffee machine, and even an Ercol sofa in there.

Absolutely no idea who I thought was gonna be running the shop when I was up here having all my imaginary meetings.

Now, this is the store room/dumping ground that took me over 4 hours to straighten out yesterday.

Life eh. A marvellous thing init 😂👊🏼

I’m 200 pages down, and it’s just … perfect. In every way. World building and playing with words at its very best.

I can’t wait to get to the end. But I also wish there was no end and it just kept going and going and going.

Plus … I think I found the easter egg. And I never find the easter egg!!

Just when you think you couldn’t love Thomas Taylor any more, after giving us the incredible Eerie-on-Sea series … Bam! Along comes The Lantern & the Labyrinth.

And you can catch the man himself at ipswichbookfestival on Saturday 3rd October. It’s an Eerie-on-Sea event, but I have it on good authority that Thomas might just introduce the audience to his latest incredible creation.
