Fascinating watching a solitary bee seal the end of a cardboard bee tube with mud. Sealed inside are the bee eggs that will hatch and produce next year's bees.

Fun fact Tuesday..
Solitary bees make up over 90% of bee species found in Britain. Over 100 bee species recorded from the North East of England included 19 bumblebees, one honeybee and the rest all solitary bees including red mason bees which we supply as bee cocoons to release in your garden. They are very effective pollinators as they carry dry, loose pollen on their belly or legs, which allows them to easily transfer pollen between flowers. Plus get extra FREE whilst stocks last.

We have UK bred solitary bees supplied as cocoons in a cardboard release box. Each cocoon contains a Red Mason Bee (Osmia rufa) that is normally active in the garden until July pollinating flowers, top fruit and soft fruit. Once they arrive they will hatch within 2 weeks. This is a great way to boost bee numbers, as the following year the adults and their offspring will use the same nest again building up the numbers of solitary bees visiting your garden each year. 1st class tracked 24 postage is included in the price.
