We make reading free and available to all and that books do not belong in landfill and should be used to improve quality of life and mental wellbeing. At the Global Educational Trust we believe that the ability to read is the cornerstone of educational success and a love of reading will last a life-time yet almost 1 billion people entered the 21st Century unable to read a book or sign their own name. In the UK:
• 1 in 6 adults have issues with literacy
• 1 in 3 parents cannot read to their children.
• 3.87 million children do not own a single book
• 4 million children live in poverty

At the Global Educational Trust, we believe that education and literacy skills help individuals lead a happy and successful life, and needless to say, provide the opportunity for people to become leaders, pioneers and visionaries which is ultimately beneficial to us all. Our last day at The Microshops will be Friday 25th September. We will then be closed the following week while we move things over and will reopen at 71 Upper Orwell St on Monday 5th October.
As you can see, we still have plenty of books, so please don't stop visiting us yet and taking your 3 free books - so we don't have so many to pack up! 😁

Find children’s books in the foyer that are free to take and keep! If you have any unwanted children’s books at home then please feel free to drop them off with us

We have news.... 😊

After 6 months at Microshops-Ipswich (for which we are extremely grateful) we will
soon be on the move again.
We are going to 71 Upper Orwell Street (the road that runs from the Spread Eagle up to The Regent) and will be opening there at the beginning of October. We know it's a bit further, but it's still near car parks and bus stops and we'll have lots more space for lots more books, so we hope it'll be worth it 😊

We'll be at Microshops for another couple of weeks and accepting book donations, so do still come and visit us when you're in town x
