There was something rather special about today. 🌿

Our very first Creative Nook workshop took place here at Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary.

Around the table were people who arrived as individuals, and over a few peaceful hours became a little creative community. There was conversation, quiet concentration, cups of tea, shared inspiration, and the gentle satisfaction of making something with our own hands.

One of my favourite moments is watching someone realise they can be creative. That little spark of confidence is exactly why I created The Creative Nook.

Thank you to everyone who came along and trusted me to be part of your creative journey. You made this first workshop one I’ll always remember.

I can’t wait to welcome the next group around the table.

If you’ve been wondering whether to book a workshop but aren’t sure if you’re “creative enough”, this is your gentle reminder: you absolutely are. You don’t need experience—just curiosity and a willingness to slow down for a few hours.

I hope to see you at Harriet Bloom soon. 🤎

New tools for slow, mindful making have been arriving in the shop.

Wax, paper, ink — small rituals to return to, again and again.

Which would you reach for first?

A gentle Sunday idea.

Maws Arts & Crafts Centre in Jackfield is a lovely place for a slow wander — independent makers, studios, creative spaces, and that special Ironbridge Gorge feeling of history, craft and beautiful old buildings.

Harriet Bloom is now open here in Studio C19.

You can visit the shop, browse papers and creative materials, see the workshop space, and then make a little day of it at MAWS and the surrounding Gorge.

I’m so pleased to be part of this creative community.

Add MAWS to your next Ironbridge day out.

The first workshops are now live.

The Creative Nook workshops are gentle, small-group sessions held here at Harriet Bloom — designed for beginners, returning makers, and anyone who wants a few calm hours doing something with their hands.

No experience needed.
No pressure to be “good at art”.
Just beautiful materials, gentle guidance and time to slow down.

July workshops include creative journaling, slow stitching, paper-based making and nature-inspired mixed media.

All workshops are listed as Facebook events under Harriet Bloom Studio, and bookings are now open on the website.

Tap Events on the Harriet Bloom Studio page or visit the website to see what’s coming up.

Some people collect antiques.
I collect paper.

Not pristine paper.

Paper that’s been folded, posted, written on, tucked inside books, pinned to noticeboards and carried in someone’s pocket decades ago.

Every antique fair and French brocante feels a little like a treasure hunt. I’m always searching for beautiful old maps, music, handwritten letters, vintage stationery, book pages, receipts, delicate Chinese Xuan paper, translucent bamboo fibre paper and all the wonderfully imperfect things that makers love.

Back at the studio, I spend hours sorting, pairing and curating them into paper packs. Each one is different. Each one has its own character.

I love imagining where these papers have been—and even more, where they’ll go next.

Perhaps into a junk journal.
A collage.
A creative journal.
A memory book.
Or a mixed media piece that’s only just beginning to take shape.

One of my favourite moments is watching someone open a journal in the shop and discover these papers for the first time. You can almost see the ideas beginning.

You’ll find a growing collection of curated vintage paper packs at Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary, ready for their next chapter.

Which piece would you use first—a faded map, an old music sheet or a beautifully worn book page?

What a day… ❤️

Today we officially opened the doors to Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary, and my heart is so full.

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate, browse, chat, ask questions, and simply spend time with us. Seeing people leafing through journals, discovering handmade treasures, sharing stories and filling the space with laughter was everything I’d hoped this place could become.

Harriet Bloom has always been about more than beautiful things. It’s about slowing down, creating, connecting and finding a little everyday magic. Today, it felt like that vision came to life.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this journey—friends, family, fellow creatives, neighbours, customers and everyone who has encouraged me along the way. Your kindness means more than you know.

If you couldn’t make it today, don’t worry—the kettle is always on, there’s always something new to discover, and I’d love to welcome you soon.

Here’s to the beginning of a wonderful new chapter. 🌿✨

With love,

Netty x

A proper “this is really happening” moment. The sign has gone up, thanks to Signature Signs Telford Ltd.

After months of planning, painting, gathering, choosing, second-guessing, deciding, measuring, re-measuring, and occasionally standing in the middle of the room wondering where on earth to put everything… Harriet Bloom Creative Apothecary is beginning to take shape

There’s something quietly emotional about seeing the name outside the door.

A small creative shop.
A table for making.
Shelves with papers, ribbons, textiles, journals, lace, books and lots of beautiful things.
A place for curious makers, gentle workshops and slow creative moments.

Opening soon at Studio C19, Maws Arts & Crafts Centre, Jackfield.

Grand Opening:
Saturday 4 July
2pm – 5pm
