Oran Creative Crafts was formed initially by nine individual craft workers on the island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. We first started selling our products at craft fairs held monthly during the 2003 visitor season. This proved so successful that we formed a co-operative which went on to lease a permanent shop at the St. Columba Steadings on the road to Iona Abbey. The eight individual

s currently involved produce a range of quality goods and products and hope to develop their interests and skills through this project. Our shop is open during the main summer season and, during the quieter winter period, is available as a workshop for members of our co-operative to use. Our products include Cards, Prints, Crochet, Knitwear and Soaps, all made on Iona by local people. A percentage from every sale is ploughed back into the group to meet the costs associated with running the shop.
