This week has been busy with jarring and labelling all this honey!

As you can see the Health and Safety Manager and Quality Inspector were not happy about their exclusion from the working area. But as they had refused to wear hair nets they had to stay out of the clean space 🤷🏼‍♀️

All of our hard work has paid off and we have a good amount of jars to sell.

If you are local to the Isle of Wight we are starting to make arrangements for deliveries across the island free of charge, please drop us a message.

Spot the Queen!

This was a tricky one to get when it was taken a couple of weeks ago. We went into this split a few weeks after removing the reigning Queen Amber from the hive simulating a swarm.

As this particular nuc had done so well through the spring on our weekly inspection we found loads of charged Queen Cells, we made the decision at this point to go with splitting and letting the hive naturally bringing on a new Queen. As we are incredibly good at naming our Queens this lady is now affectionately known as Not Amber, ironic given her beautiful colour we know!

Having never gone through this process we were over the moon to find eggs in the Hive when we opened it for inspection. We now have 2 more splits from our nucs this year going through the same process. So we will watch this space and see how they do! 🐝👑🍯
