We have our first fish of the 2026 Tweed Season, and the winner of this year’s Tweed Trophy!

🎣 With the new season kicking off on 02/02/2026, the countdown to this year’s Tweed Trophy is officially underway!⁠

The River Tweed often gives up its first springer on opening day if conditions are right, so if you're thinking of casting a line, now’s the time to check availability, get out there and give it a go.⁠
⁠
This coveted trophy goes to the angler who lands the first verified spring salmon of the season on the main river. To enter, you’ll need a photo of the fish and confirmation from at least one witness. Send your catch details (time, beat, etc.) to [email protected].⁠
⁠
Then, head over to Fin & Game from 6pm for our annual late-night opening. Enjoy a relaxed evening with drinks, canapés, and (hopefully) the trophy presentation. Whether you’ve been on the water or not, all are welcome to celebrate the start of the season.⁠
