It’s always inspiring to see the Students End of Term Exhibition at Kendal College. Like other local businesses, we sponsor one of the prizes and Sarah chose the work of Emily Ince whose piece “Under Our Skin” was based on calling out discrimination and how underneath our anatomy is the same. Emily’s standard of sewing, and excellent textile manipulation to reflect the human structure, whilst creating a wearable fashion garment made her a clear winner for us. Emily is heading to Manchester in September to study fashion and we wish her every success.

The photographs are back for Steve and Pete, and we couldn't wait to share a closer look at one of our most detailed outfits yet!

Sarah has packed so many tiny details into Steve's mechanic overalls. There's a hammer loop, a stitched logo badge, and even a little toolbox ready for all manner of roadside emergencies.

Luna and all her felted folk are itching to roll up their sleeves and get to work. Whether they're tinkering with engines, mending bicycles or getting ready to sew, Steve's mechanics overalls are ready for the job.

The CoolCrafting shop is Summer ready and looking very pretty. This is quite the operation and Karolina from production’s least favourite 1/2 hour of the year. Handmade bunting (of course) by our Sheila. Who is coming to visit our crafting emporium this Summer?

Steve and Pete are ready for their official photoshoot tomorrow. The kits are available to preorder online. The pattern and instructions for the toolbox are a bonus for the mechanics overalls. The tiny tools were a moment of using all sorts of kitchen implements, swearing, a chopstick and a pack of fimo. We are really hoping these will be in the post by the end of June.

Steve the Stoat has finally joined Luna Lapin and Friends, like all mustelids he’s a little misunderstood,. But we know him to be kind-hearted and happiest tinkering away in his garage.

He’s available to pre-order now, alongside his rather smart mechanic’s jumpsuit and his cousin Pete the Pine Marten.

In the spirit of his wild cousins, in April we’ll be donating £1 from every kit or pattern sold to Cumbria Wildlife Trust, helping to protect the spaces these small, often overlooked creatures call home.

We’re working at the unpredictable pace of life with a six-week-old, so Steve and his long-bodied friends will be ready at some point in June! This is an open pre-order, so there’s really no rush.
