A little break from the usual shop talk to celebrate something we’re incredibly proud of. ♥️

On the 11th of July we hosted our Charity Bash & Auction in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Myton Hospice, two charities that are very close to our hearts.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. Thank you to our generous suppliers who donated auction lots, The Clarendon Arms for keeping everyone refreshed, Paul and Jan Simmons for feeding everyone, Wired for providing fantastic live music, and Jimmy O’Neill for doing such a brilliant job as our auctioneer.

It was also lovely to see so many familiar faces supporting the event. Your generosity, whether through bidding, donating or buying a ticket, made an incredible difference.

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that together we raised an amazing £8,753.66! 🎉

⚾️What we lacked in rounders ability, we definitely made up for in enthusiasm… and injuries! 🤕😂

Smiths Rural took on the Farmers Fayre Charity Rounders Tournament! Whilst we didn’t even come close to taking home the trophy, we certainly managed to rack up the highest injury count!

Our final tally:
🤕 2 players falling over
🏏1 rounders ball to the thigh
🌾1 impressive grass burn from a heroic slide
💥1 batter wipeout
💅1 ball to the acrylic nail
🩻1 suspected cracked rib

Safe to say we might need a little more practice before next year’s tournament… although we definitely had a laugh raising money for a great cause!
