Over the past little while (in between mum life, work and everything in between), I’ve been creating a set of 16 gentle affirmation cards for children 💛
They’re the kind of words I’d want my own child to hear…
On the wobbly days…
The “I can’t do it” days…
Or just as a quiet little confidence boost 💛

Simple, kind reminders like:
“I am brave enough to try”
“I am allowed to make mistakes”
“I am getting better every day”

Nothing overwhelming, just soft, positive words to help build confidence, resilience and self-belief 💛

I’m doing a little first launch (be gentle with me 😅)
→ £2.50 for the full set as a digital download

If you’d like a set for your little one (or to gift to someone), just pop me a message and I’ll send them over 💌

And if you do get them… I’d honestly love to hear how your child responds to them 🌿💛

🌿 Parenting when you’re going through a hard time. You’ve got this 🌿

Parenting is demanding. Even when life feels steady, there’s so much you’re holding.

💛 Managing behaviour.
💛 Siblings arguing.
💛 Feeding, dressing, bathing.
💛 Appointments.
💛 Comforting big feelings.
💛 Trying to meet everyone’s needs at once.

It’s a lot.

🌿But what about when you aren’t at your strongest?🌿

💛 When your mental health feels wobbly.
💛 When stress is high.
💛 When you’re physically exhausted.
💛 When your body just isn’t cooperating.

Those are the moments where prioritising really matters.

You do not have to be perfectly regulated, endlessly patient, high energy and getting everything right every minute of every day.

It is more than okay to parent in a “good enough” way.

Your children need your presence and your love. They don’t always need elaborate activities, constant stimulation, or a parent bouncing off the walls with excitement.

It’s okay to say, in an age-appropriate way,
“Mummy’s feeling a bit tired today.”
“I need a slow morning.”

Not to burden them.
But to model that humans have feelings.
That energy fluctuates.
That it’s safe to rest.

You are not causing emotional harm by being honest.
You are teaching emotional literacy.
You are showing regulation doesn’t mean perfection, it means awareness and repair.

Sometimes the most regulating thing for a child’s nervous system is simply a calm, present parent sitting beside them.

💛 Snuggles and a movie.
💛 Independent play while you sip tea.
💛 Lower expectations.
💛 Gentle presence over performance.

That is enough.
You are enough.

This week I haven’t been feeling my best and my energy is depleted, so I’m taking my own advice. We’ve still got this parenting malarkey, just in a softer way.

How do you cope on low energy days? I’d genuinely love to know 💛

🌿I wanted to share something we’ve been really enjoying in our house lately🌿

My 7 year old and I have been reading ‘Happy From Head to Toe’ by Fearne Cotton, and it’s honestly been such a lovely surprise.

It gently explores how our bodies and minds are connected, how our feet can help us shift our energy, how our shoulders can help us feel confident, how using our voice can help us express what’s going on inside. It’s simple, but powerful.

What I really love is that it doesn’t feel preachy or overwhelming. It just opens conversations. The kind where your child suddenly says something insightful about feelings and you think, ‘oh wow… this is why this matters.’

It’s become one of those books that naturally leads into:

💛“How does your body feel today?”
💛“Where do you feel that feeling?”
💛“What might help right now?”

And as someone who cares deeply about emotional resilience, nervous system awareness and raising children who understand themselves, it feels very aligned with everything Zen Mama stands for.

This isn’t sponsored in any way, I’m not affiliated at all. We just genuinely love it.
If you’ve read it, I’d love to hear your thoughts 💛

💛 Please send me your favourite mindful / emotional wellbeing books for 6–9 year olds. We’re building our little collection.

🌿Welcome to Zen Mama🌿

Zen Mama has been an idea/ concept I have been quietly developing in the background over the last few years. Its purpose has been shaped by my own experiences as a mum of 3, and the knowledge I have gained along the way.

It has manifested as a result of my deep desire to learn about human psychology, emotional wellbeing and what we can do to nurture our childrens inner world, whilst being true to the fact that as parents we are only human and will never get it right 100% of the time (which IS ok).

Zen Mama exists to support the emotional wellbeing of the whole family, in a gentle, real-life, non-clinical way. Here you’ll find gentle, practical tools to support children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence, and family connection, while also helping parents feel calmer, more supported, and less alone.

On this page you’ll find:

⭐ Children’s affirmations
💛 Parent emotional support
✨ Supportive parenting guidance
🌿 Emotional development education
🌙 Calm tools for everyday family life

Zen Mama is built on the belief that children don’t need perfect parents, they need safe, connected relationships and supportive environments where they can grow emotionally strong from the inside out.

💛 Because both parents and children deserve care.

💛 Because both parents and children deserve compassion.

💛 Because no one is meant to do this perfectly.

💛 And no one is meant to do this alone.

If you're here, you are already trying.
And that matters more than you know 💛
