Our Shamanic drums are all made in ceremony with love and care. Lynn from Touch The Earth has over 25 years experience in drum birthing.

Events take place at our Caer Corhrain Shamanic Center Kent

Please note - Caer Corhrain is also a family home. All drums and rattles are made in a mindful way and within ceremony. We offer beautiful drums and rattles ready to purchase and we offer group drum making. These days are run here at our centre and is limited to four people at a time, so you can get the most from your experience. Our drums are made in the traditional way using lacing cut from the same hide, thus keeping the spirit of the animal within the drum. We will show you the full art of drum making from cutting both the hide and lacing. Then the art of lacing and tightening your drum, it’s your energy your work and your love that’s going into your drum. You can create 9 inch and15 inch Drums in Horse, Reindeer and Deer Hides. A Drum of Your Own

A drum will find you when you are ready, and believe me when I tell you they are very addictive. It will be the sound that calls to you, the first time you hear its beat you will know that it resonates with you at your frequency Then you will find you have drums for different purposes. One will be your healing drum, one your journey drum, one that you play for fun and dance to and so on and so on. Your own drum is very special and will, with the right intent work with you as you journey the Shamanic path. Treat it with respect, they are not just for hanging on the wall to make the lounge look good, or as I have seen, large drums being used as a coffee table. They are a living Spirit and need to be held in that place of respect and honour. Drums can be baught in a lot of places. I would suggest that you know the source, know the drum maker, or better still make your own. To make your own drum is a truly rewarding experience and I would say to you to go ahead, be brave and go for it. I can tell you now that the drum you make and put your love, intent and purpose in will be a very special drum indeed. Go have fun and meet the animal that will carry you far to help, not only others but you yourself.

Horse, Deer, Stag and Sheep Drums at Caer Corhrain
Every drum born at Caer Corhrain is birthed in sacred ceremony, with honour, gratitude, and deep respect. Each hide carries the spirit and wisdom of the animal that once walked this Earth, and every drum is welcomed into its new life with mindfulness, intention, and love.
No two drums are ever the same. Each has its own voice, its own heartbeat, and its own medicine. Every drum carries a unique energy, waiting patiently for the person whose spirit it is destined to walk with.
We honour not only the animal but also the trees that give their strength to each drum. The majority of our hoops are crafted from beautiful Ash, whose strong yet flexible nature forms the bones of the drum. At times we are also blessed to work with Willow and Oak, each bringing its own gifts and ancient wisdom. The trees are honoured with the same reverence as every living being and element that comes together in the sacred birthing of a drum.
Our drums are available in 10inch, 12inch, 14inch, 16inch and 18inch.
Please note that we do not post our drums. We firmly believe that no one can choose a drum for another person. If one of our drums is calling to you, then we invite you to come to the drum, for only you can truly feel which one speaks to your heart.

Antelope Drums at Caer Corhrain

For the first time, we had the honour of working with antelope hide, and what a truly humbling experience it was. As we crafted each drum, a deeper understanding unfolded, and with every step we developed an even greater respect for this precious being.
The hide was beautifully uniform in texture and an absolute pleasure to work with. It taught us something unexpected, although incredibly delicate to handle, it possessed remarkable strength. To me, this reflects the very nature of the antelope itself: graceful and gentle, yet strong, alert, and incredibly resilient.
Living in an environment where danger is ever present, the antelope survives not through fear or aggression, but through awareness, elegance, and swift, purposeful movement. There is a quiet wisdom in that way of being.
Antelope carries a beautiful medicine. Some of its teachings are difficult to put into words and are best discovered through personal experience. As with every drum we create, we honour the life that was given and the spirit that continues its journey through the voice of the drum along with the beautiful Ash wood that form the bones of our drums

Was feeling creative today. First time crafting fur on drums.
They look stunning, very odd to work with, absolutely no idea how they will sound, certainly different. I have been very blessed with 30 years or more of drum birthing here in my homeland and at our Sister Community Cedar Mountain Drums Portland and Washingtonstate under the skills and teachings of Master Drum Maker Patrick Pinson.
I have worked with Stag, Deer, Horse, Buffalo, Water buffalo, Cow, Reindeer, Elk, Bear,Sheep,Goat, Salmon.
I had a go at steaming hoops with a friend of Patricks in Portland. Scraped a skin once (couldn't get past the smell) Birthed huge gathering drums, rebirthed broken drums where possible. Crafted a ocean drum, a tiny 7" to 30" drums.
Next drums will be the beautiful Antelope.

Fantastic day in the shade as four incredible Horse drums came into the world.
Three drums cut from one Horse, joined in a friendship bond with each other that was magical to witness as the hided were stretched over beautiful Ash hoops.
Welcome drums and welcome new found friendships.
