On Saturday 19 September 2026, the staff, volunteers and customers of The Salvation Army's Donation Centre in Hinckley will take part in the Rough Sleep-out, a personal challenge that asks us to step outside our comfort zone and experience, for one night, a small part of what so many people face without choice.
With only sleeping bags and cardboard for shelter, we will be sleeping outdoors to better understand the reality of those who do not have a warm, safe place to rest. This challenge is more than a single night; it is a call to compassion, a reminder of the urgent need to stand with people who are facing hardship, and a chance to raise vital support for local work that cares for people experiencing homelessness in Hinckley and the surrounding area.
