🌿 A Fond Farewell After 40 Years Under the Buttercross 🌿

Today we say a heartfelt thank you to Christine and Gordon Link of Gobbett Nursery, who will be trading with us for the very last time on 9 October after more than four decades at Ludlow Market.

A true family business, they’ve brought quality plants, friendly expertise and a familiar smile to the Buttercross. Christine says many customers have become friends over the years, and they’ll continue to visit the market whenever they can.

They’ll still be travelling to plant fairs across the country — but Ludlow will always be part of their story.

FREE entry for Children (4-16) (normally £6.50).
FREE parking (normally £4.00 per car).
No need to pre-book.

PLUS, there's a wonderful plant fair included with a brilliant line-up of nursery and garden accessory stalls 🌺🌹🥀🌿🌴🌸🌻🌼

🌿 ONE WEEK TO GO — RARE PLANT FAIR AT LLANOVER HOUSE

Next Sunday we return to Llanover House, near Abergavenny, for our final Rare Plant Fair of the 2026 season.

As well as a fantastic selection of plants from 20 specialist exhibitors, admission includes the opportunity to explore 15 acres of remarkable gardens and arboretum at Llanover.

September is a particularly lovely time to visit. The garden has been planted with autumn very much in mind, with trees chosen for their autumn colour, berries and interesting bark, alongside deep herbaceous borders designed to complement the season’s golds, reds and oranges.

The garden’s streams, ponds and cascades are another defining feature — and keen-eyed visitors should also look out for the carpets of Cyclamen hederifolium.
