Liz Linton - pottery

Initially trained as a draughts woman, Liz's interest in pottery started when she attended evening classes.
She makes mostly decorative, thrown pottery in her studio at home and in her shop in Buckingham, which she has run for over 40 years. She uses an Earthstone Clay which she decorates at the green-ware stage with under-glaze colours.

Liz's range includes many varieties of wheel turned pottery from basic domestic ware to large bowls, vases and other decorative items all beautifully hand decorated.

Alison Blanchard - Glass

Alison has been a glass artist for 7 years, mainly working in fused glass with the occasional piece of stained glass art. She was initially attracted to the medium by the way glass transmits light and throws out a reflection extending the impact of the work beyond the piece itself.

She creates statement glass art pieces inspired by nature, flora and sunsets being particular favourites.

Alison enjoys the challenge of experimenting with different techniques and creating gorgeous pieces in vibrant colours, finding the process exciting.

The Oxfordshire Craft Guild is delighted to be exhibiting at the Kendrew Barn gallery, St John's College, Oxford from 2pm Sat 28th Feb to Sunday 15th March. Open daily 10am-5pm.

Sara reckons she's been working with beads for an extraordinary number of years! She started by selling loose Indian beads, supplied by the kilo, wrapped and despatched from a bedroom. This wasn't very fulfilling so she learnt to make jewellery using the beads. She now designs and makes jewellery with a range of beads - either selfmade, commissioned or sourced from interesting suppliers worldwide. Her jewellery is sold in shops and galleries throughout Britain. She exhibits and sells her work at a selection of craft fairs and music festivals.

Sara has authored many books on bead jewellery making, the most recent, co-authored with Xuella Arnold, is Compendium of Jewellery Making Techniques. Other recent titles are The Encyclopedia of Beading Techniques and The Encyclopedia of Wire Jewellery Techniques.

Sara has lectured on the Arkell bead collection in the Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford at the Istanbul International Bead & Beadwork Conference in November 2007.

Sara teaches bead making and bead jewellery making in arts centres around England.

Pam Fyvie - Glass

Pam is constantly inspired & awed by the world, particularly the forces of nature. She is passionate about colours & their relationships to each other. She loves exploring new techniques & ideas.

Recent projects have been a series of small transparent, highly polished, cast shapes with dichroic veiling inside them, entitled ‘Aurora Borealis’, cast bowls & fused glass crystal edged bowls. I have also been experimenting with chemical reactions in glass.

Pam's fused glass flowers & lilies are inspired by her love of colourful & scented flowers.

Gerry Coles - printmaker

Gerry adored drawing as a young girl, studied Art up to A level, but no further. It would take until 2012 and a printmaking exhibition at the Victoria Gallery in Bath before she was inspired to rush off, buy a starter kit and try for herself .
To paraphrase Mark Twain - "I never let schooling interfere with my education" so Gerry embarked on a journey of discovery; to uncover the mysteries of printmaking. Proudly self taught, she developed skills through workshops, books, demonstrations and of course many, many hours of practise - trial and error.

Going forward, Gerry has grown and developed her work and now has a dedicated studio and a thriving printmaking practise.
