PC Hempsey has been out on patrol in the Renishaw area!

A White Transit vehicle was sighted on Carrwood Road. Initial checks on the vehicle revealed the that there was no insurance policy in place.

PC Hempsey spoke with the driver regarding this.

The male was later stop and searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs act, due to information from the community, alongside a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
A small packet of suspected co***ne was located in the vicinity of the vehicle. The driver also failed a roadside drug test which indicated that he was over the legal limit for co***ne and cannabis use.

The driver was arrested, and released under investigation whilst PC Hempsey awaits for blood and drug results.

๐Ÿšจ Patrols in the Spinkhill area ๐Ÿšจ

PC Hempsey and PCSO Rawson were on patrol in the Spinkhill area when officers received a report of a break-in at the former St Mary's College.

Officers made a prompt response, and PC Hempsey subsequently detained three individuals for a Section 1 of PACE stop search.

We are aware that the site has been circulating social media, with people encouraging others to visit and explore the building due to it's history and background.

โš ๏ธPlease be aware this is private property.
Anyone entering the site without the landowner's permission is trespassing and may also be putting themselves at significant risk.

The building and surrounding grounds are not a public attraction. Derelict and unoccupied buildings can contain unstable structures, broken glass, exposed flooring, hazardous materials and other unseen dangers.

We would ask parents and guardians to speak to young people about the risks associated with entering sites such as this.

If you see suspicious activity at the site, please report it rather than approaching those involved yourself.

Yesterday PCSO Furmidge along with Community Safety Partnerships and Rykneld Homes conducted an "Anti-Social Behaviour Door knock" after an increase of incidents and calls for service in the Emmett Carr Lane area. This was very productive and we received some useful information; it was also really nice to speak to the residents in the area for them to air their concerns they may have.

If you do have any concerns, you can contact us by the options below or you could come and speak to officers at any of our events that we have arranged over the next few weeks, including our Community Catch Ups. You do not have to attend the one that is in your area, you can come to any of them due to it being the same team that attend the Eckington Civic, Green Lawns- Marsh Lane, Renishaw & Spinkhill Community Hall or Ridgeway Sports and Social.
