Pinhole viewer at the ready...☀️👀 Don't look directly at the eclipse!

Are you planning to watch the solar eclipse tonight? 🌞🌑

The eclipse is expected to begin just after 6pm, with peak coverage across much of East Ayrshire around 7pm.

If you're heading outside to catch a glimpse, please remember to protect your eyes and never look directly at the sun without proper eclipse-viewing glasses or solar filters. ☀️👀

In the meantime we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for clear skies across East Ayrshire tonight! 🤞

Please view the draft flood maps and share your local knowledge and experiences on flooding

Did you know that around 3,800 people and approximately 2,400 homes and businesses within Kilmarnock could be at risk of flooding?

We’re carrying out a flood study to better understand flood risk and identify potential options to help reduce flooding in the future.

As part of the study, we’re inviting residents, businesses and anyone with an interest in the area to view the draft flood maps and share their local knowledge and feedback.

Your experiences and comments will help us better understand flooding in the area and shape the next stages of the project.

📣 Our new LDP3 topic papers are here and we want your views!

As work continues on East Ayrshire’s next Local Development Plan (LDP3), we’ve published a new set of topic papers outlining key issues across the area.
These papers help build the evidence we’ll use to shape future plans, so it’s important we get this right.

The latest topics include:
• Business, Employment and Community Wealth Building
• Brownfield, vacant and derelict land
• Forestry, woodland and trees
• Soils

💬 We’re keen to hear from you as your feedback will help shape the Evidence Report before it goes to the Scottish Government next year.
