🌸CHARITY FAIR🌸

On Sunday 10th October Ned’s Craft Shed will be at raising money for Hull & East Riding Breast Friends 💕

I will be selling knitting kits, headbands, hats, bracelets and tie dye t shirts - £1 from each sale will go to the charity.

And £5 from each pink tie dye t shirt will also go to HBF | Breast Cancer Charity 🤩

Come to see us between 11am-4pm and support a great cause!

There will be crafts, clothes, candles, cake and many more stalls to browse.

HER Breast Friends is Hull and East Riding’s local breast cancer charity, a group of people all affected by breast cancer who provide coffee mornings, pamper days, wig banks, bra banks, campaigns and therapy for people living through all different stages of breast cancer!

HER breast friends aim to inspire and encourage, and really make a difference by helping to promote a positive approach to living with the disease!

Today is world wide knit in public day, so I’ve been for a walk to hunt for purple flowers to match my knitting and ended up in the park!

My first charity milestone 🧡🧶✨

I’m in my 8th year of being a student and I have found that knitting helps calm my busy brain when academic pressures get tough.

Ned’s Craft Shed knitting kits are made to help get beginners into knitting to learn a new skill and help clear busy minds.

I’ve been quiet on social media over the last couple of months as PhD life has been super busy... but Ned’s Craft Shed is still on such a positive journey!

Over 100 items have now been sold and today is an exciting day as it marks my first donation to 🥳🎉

With the end of my PhD looming I wanted to choose a bigger knitting project to help my mind through the upcoming challenging months...

Having only knitted headbands and hats, I chose the Jupiter jumper by for my first big knit!

I loved this pattern so much I attempted knitting on the train and ended up with the three balls of wool rolling down the aisle 🤦🏻‍♀️ (swipe for the colours in the sun 🤩).

I have finally finished the back panel and I LOVE it! The pattern is great for new knitters - the colour change technique is really simple but makes it look really fancy!

Learning to knit has been great for my mental health... give it a go! You might really love it too ✨

I often get asked ‘Why is it called NED’S CRAFT SHED?!’

The letters N.E.D are my initials and the term ‘my head is a shed’ is something I use when my mind is feeling a bit mashed...

Whether my shed is cluttered with busy thoughts or it’s a down day where I feel a bit spaced out, I find that engaging my brain in something crafty always helps.

The idea behind NED’S CRAFT SHED is to provide beginners kits to help you start something crafty and help you to make some shedspace!

The first kit I made was a beginners knitting kit as knitting is known to reduce stress and anxiety, and leave knitters feeling much more calm and happy!🧶

My plan is to turn more of my favourite crafts into kits with all the materials that you need to complete a craft project! So let’s see where this year takes us ✨
