We just wanted to take a moment to say something that matters enormously to us.

The Gray and White Bookshop is, and always will be, a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

That means people of every race, ethnicity, nationality, faith, gender, sexuality, age and background. It means trans people and the wider LGBTQ+ community, disabled and neurodivergent people, travellers, immigrants and refugees.

It means people who are home educated, people who attend mainstream school, people who learn through alternative provision and people whose education has taken a completely different route.

It means people whose lives, families, identities and experiences might look very different from your own.

You don’t have to understand every part of somebody else’s life to treat them with kindness and respect.
Sometimes people need a little more understanding, a little more patience or a little more support, and we’ll always do our best to offer that here.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and valued. Everyone deserves dignity, kindness and a place in the community.

If you share these values, you will always be welcome here. We can't wait to see you.

If you believe that some people are less deserving of those things than others, we’re probably not the bookshop for you.
And that's okay. There are plenty of others.

Everyone is welcome here. Prejudice isn’t and never will be.

Lizzie recommends Sepulchre by Kate Mosse

"It's a beautifully told time slip set between modern day and the 1890's Aude region of France. It brings ghosts, mystery and crime together with a really lovely pair of heroines. The prose and language are so picturesque and bring the landscape and characters to life so well".

You can buy your own copy in store, we can order it in for you or you can buy it via our Bookshop . org affiliate link in the comments.
