Whatever Woodcraft

Whatever Woodcraft Whatever Woodcraft is run by myself, Martin Pearson. Most of the items are made to order, most items can be personalised.

Most of what I do is wood related, a little hand turning producing items such as pens & the rest is done mainly with a CNC machine which can produce anything I am clever enough to be able to design, early days but I am learning all the time. I can't personalise small items such as pens & purfume pens/atomisers just now, but hope to add a laser engraver at some point to be able to offer that servic

e. The aim of the Company is to make what ever the customer would like using a variety of different materials. Wood is sourced from suppliers who have a sustainability policy in place. Work is mostly with hardwoods from a local sawmill. Scottish Woods supply wood harvested in Scotland, most of it grown locally. They are also members of Scottish Working Woods. The Company has been started as part of my recovery journey after Medical Discharge from the RN with the aid of Help for Heroes & X-Forces.

No printing over the last couple of days, back to engraving & testing settings on the F2 ultra UV engraving on baltic birch plywood, been using quite a lot of existing files that I already know engrave well.
The UV laser does a great job of engraving & you get a very clean engrave straight off the machine

Really loving doing these photos of Carole's on the Eufymake E1, did a couple more yesterday, these are both just flat prints rather than textured. Both done on wood panels, next couple will be done on Canvas.

Another print on the Eufymake E1 on a wooden board, this is actually the first one I have printed with any texture, I used the releif texture mode for this one but limited the texture height to 1.5mm. For this picture the default height came in at 2.5mm but used a lot more white ink & took considerably longer to print.
I will probably print this one flat & with the increased texture height so I can compare the different options.

Did some sub-surface engraving with heart & rectangular-shaped keyrings from xTool yesterday, quite hard to photograph these but they came out well.
These are K5 crystal rather than K9 but still engraved very well.
Will be doing some more experimenting with these over the next week.

I am sure most who look at this page know that I have an xTool demo room & do demos for them.
So this is just adding a little bit more to that helping them to promote a new machine that is being launched later this year. If you are happy to like & share this then that would help me a lot.

Todays quick job was some material testing using the xTool F2, I used the F2 because that is the machine that the customer is looking at.
These were done using a range of different power & speed settings to give the names a slightly different look with some being lighter than others although it is hard to see that with the stainless steel rectangles.

When you have health problems you really need to be better prepared than I am most of the time, Today was my granddaughter's birthday & when I eventually got up I didn't really feel well enough to go to the shops to buy her a card which I should really have done earlier in the week.
Lucky for me I have the Eufymake E1 at home & not at my workshop so after finding a suitable piece of card stock a little while later I had made her a card lol.
