Seeing double again!

What's going on this week? Another dual identity Luger!?

Well yeah! This time another rarity - a dual 41/42 code P08, only produced between January and February of 1941 with an estimated tiny production total of 7000 made. The 41 on the receiver denotes the year of production, 42 on the toggle denotes Ma**er production, though this changed in late '41 to the secret code "byf" making this a seriously rare survivor.

Long-time followers of our page will have seen this beauty before, but seeing as the previous Luger post has blown up internationally and this lovely gun has just come back into the store, I thought it pertinent to share it again!

So you want a wartime Luftwaffe M35 but you haven't got the 4 figure budget for a fully original double decal job - we might have just the thing!

This came in recently - it's a genuine WW2 M35 shell with a genuine 1942 M42 liner band, but a post war leather liner and a later re-finish. We can't call it a 100% genuine period correct double decal M35 , though according to the lot number (4088).that's what it would have been issued as. As such, it's rather kinder to the wallet at only £395!

You could be forgiven for thinking this was a Walther PP or PPK at a glance, but it is actually the pistol produced by J P Sauer in direct competition with the Walther offering during a period when the demand for a compact double action semi-auto pistol was high. Given the designation 38H denoting its year of introduction - but what does the H signify?

45 Calibre Kiss!

Thought I would share this little nugget with you all - I had grand visions of a cinematic slow motion shell eject from this C**t 1911 - you know the score - dramatic music, slow pan camera shot and glistening brass..

Instead, you get this out of focus disaster with a
45 round right in the mush!

Ah well, I'll try harder next time 😁
