The Lampeter Town Council Awards celebrate the unsung heroes of Lampeter, who make a difference by contributing to community life, and use their time to help and inspire others. They also recognise the outstanding achievements of local people in all areas of Lampeter life. Nominees must live within the Electoral Ward, work, study or have a business in town. They must show an active involvement in local community activities such as town events.

Consolation prize goes to Emyr Morris 🤡 for his beautiful laundry basket! He will receive a wicker hanging basket so that hopefully next year he will be able to produce an actual hanging basket complete with plants 😂

I will be judging on colour, quality and style.

MINDLESS VANDALISM last night after the show!
We only just planted the new pots for Lampeter Town Council last week.
I will have to go and patch it up tomorrow and try to re-plant the hanging basket.
There seems to be quite a a lot of of vandalism in Lampeter probably caused by a handful of individuals.
I wonder if anyone knows who did it will own up….?

Just to let you know that we will be closed on Sundays until December.
The summer months are quieter for us after the spring rush so time for a bit of a recharge!
We are however open Monday-Saturday 9-5.30.
We have lots of colourful plants, hanging baskets, ornate metalwork etc

I really don’t want to be negative about events but I’m afraid that I have to say that the cycling event that was held in Lampeter today which had one of the main roads into Lampeter closed to all traffic turned Lampeter into a ghost town.
I walked through every street three times during the day and it was dead apart from the cyclists and their support cars.
There were at best a dozen or so spectators in Bridge St mainly residents - not tens or hundreds or thousands of spectators.
I think most businesses were closed and those that were open were very quiet- the garden centre took less money than it cost to open- an absolute disaster in these currently difficult financial times.
I personally wouldn’t recommend holding this event in Lampeter again as it wasn’t in any way a positive thing for Lampeter.
Is there anyway we can be compensated for loss of trade…?
