I have been passionate about one simple idea: communities become stronger when people are given opportunities to discover their strengths, develop their skills, and contribute to something bigger than themselves. That belief inspired opening Cosmic Grooves CIC in my hometown, Lanark, in December 2025
The vision is simple: to use music as a vehicle for developing individual and community capacity. A place where young people can gain experience, local talent can flourish, community groups can come together, and people feel welcomed and valued.
The support we've received so far has been incredible, and every record purchased, every visit to the shop, and every conversation helps us move closer to that vision.
Since opening, it is clear that we need to create civic spaces where “casual collisions” and conversations happen across generations, and as a local business, by supporting this purpose, we're doing more than sustaining a high street—we're helping to build stronger, more connected and more resilient communities.
