Tuning a Welmar upright piano on the Fylde . I have maintained it since 1996 . It has a Kastener-Wehlau floating centre action . It is a fine piano by a Great British firm which dissapeared many years ago .

People often ask me which upright piano action is the most reliable with regard to both sticking and sluggish notes. And I always say it's the Kastner Wehlau floating centre action and keys . They were fitted to pianos made by Barrett and Robinson. Also Pianos by Challen and Nathaniel Berry.
