Set up and ready for today's market. In light of recent events, consider expanding your trans education, supporting trans writers and/or deepening your empathy with trans people.

Highlights
Shone Faye, The Transgender Issue, Love in Exile
Possibly one of the best non fiction writers on trans experience, the Transgender Issue is kind of a masterpiece in showing how trans people are blamed and made into scapegoats for broader issues of gender oppression. This paperback version has an extra chapter, bringing it more up to date with the current state of anti-transness that pervades the UK.
Love in Exile is another non fiction work by Faye that examines Love from the perspective of trans identity. Faye's own experience is wound throughout the analysis of what love means when you're place in a category of human deemed unworthy of love.

Charlie Craggs (ed), TO MY TRANS SISTERS
A collection of writing by trans women for trans women, providing advice from survival to makeup application. Wound throughout, examinations of transfeminine experience.

Torrey Peters, DETRANSITION, BABY
a sex-in-the-city style romcom centring trans characters trying to have a baby. Reese nearly had it all: a loving relationship with Amy, an apartment in New York, a job she didn't hate. For her, the only thing missing was a child. The opportunity arises when an ex comes back into her life with a tempting offer to form an unconventional family?

A glut of new titles came in last week, ready for their debut (if they don't get blown away). Here's one from each section

Sci-fi
Isle McElroy, People Collide
Married couple swap bodies and one partner goes missing. Can Eli solve the mystery and get back in the right body all while navigating the new body he inhabits, with all the gender confusion that comes with it?

Fantasy
V. E. Schwab, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil (paperback, sprayed edges)
Women selling their soul at different points in history to have a little bit of power and defy men. Rich, lush and labyrinthine, a story that grabs you by the throat.

Horror
Vincent Tirado, We Came To Welcome You
Suburban horror. People move to a new (definitely not a cult) neighbourhood. If you've ever felt like being neighbourly was more a threat than a courtesy, you might relate to what this pair are about to experience.

Thriller
Bea Fitzgerald, Then Things Went Dark
Murder mystery on reality tv. 12 million people saw Rhys Sutton die on a remote island, but no one knows who did it. The other fice contestants on the show all have a motive because Rhys was the most hated man on tv. Shocking, addictive, perfect holiday thriller.

Romance
Catherine Cowles, Across the Vanishing Sky
Small-town romance meets mystery thriller. Braedyn Winslow has come to Starlight Grove to solve the disappearance of her best friend. A reclusive mountain man is the main suspect, but is that just because he spends quite a bit of time away from people?

There are also more graphic novels, some new children's books (one about a trans crayon) and a couple of new poetry collections as well. Here until we get blown away.

Back in
