Well that’s it now - the shop is nearly all empty. Lots of memories throughout the past years. We would like to thank everyone who called in on our last week to wish us well, brought us bottles and flowers 💐🥂, cards or just to reminisce - it was all very much appreciated.

A week today we close our door,
Come and have a browse we’ve got bargains galore!
If stocking up your stash is on your mind,
Don’t delay, you never know what you might find.
We still have buttons, threads and fabrics,
Haberdashery, ribbons and elastics.
Our stock of wool is looking quite bare,
But there’s still some left so don’t despair.
So call in this week, Come and chat and reminisce,
Cause after all, it’s our customers who we’ll miss.
We’d like to thank you all from the bottom of our heart,
Supporting us through life’s rollercoaster and right back to the start.
Thank you to all our customers old and new,
We wouldn’t have been here this long if it wasn’t for you.
It’ll soon be time for the ladies to retire,
To enjoy their families, days out, and relaxing by the fire.

Our Story

Set in the market town of Bentham, on the borders of North Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, we are a friendly and well stocked haberdashers. We sell over 500 patchwork fabrics, as well as dressmaking patterns and fabric, wool and yarn.

We are a Brother Sewing Machine agency, providing pre and post sales advice, with a range of demo machines for you to try on appointment.

Classes and workhops are popular, running regularly, suit are range of abilities and include topics such as sewing, embroidery, art, crochet, and lampshade making.
