Schools out for the summer!

So we went off to do a little hedge-bothering and collected wild raspberries, then popped over to Wendy who kindly let us harvest her redcurrants. Once home, we made summer fruit jam with a kilo of blackcurrants I got from a lady in Garstang. It is delicious. 😁

I happened upon some sweet woodruff (galium ordoratum)today. A beautiful wildflower, it has a wonderful scent of vanilla and hay when dried.

During the middle ages it was placed within the mattresses of expectant mothers to offer protection to both mother and child and was known as sweet scented bedstraw. It is a useful charm for prosperity, victory and good luck. 🌱

As you shed
Those healing
Tears

That no matter
How cold,
Bleak and long
The winter

Snowdrops rise
And blossom
Year upon year.

May this knowledge
Comfort you,

A gift of hope

Comes Hope.

"All of you is welcome here" she said
As she looked into my eyes
And tied around my wrist
This length of red thread.

And I parted the curtains
And stepped into this sacred space
Connected to all the women
Who came before
Felt centuries of pain and heard Those soul deep roars.

I sat alone and wept sacred tears
And offered prayers and comfort,
Healing and love
To soothe all of our fears.

And my offering of a silver spoon
Was left under the light
Of the full moon
And with it, peace came
Forgiveness came
Light came
And with the light
Comes hope. Always hope.
