Original ceramic artwork inspired by the British coastline.

Back from the framers.
One of my favourite moments in the creative process is seeing a piece return from the framers. It's the moment when an artwork leaves the studio and begins to feel at home.

Each piece is individually hand-carved using the sgraffito technique, with a quiet palette of cobalt blue on white clay. Inspired by the landscapes, light and atmosphere of Britain's coastlines, every artwork is created as an original.

I hope you enjoy this first glimpse.

I’m increasingly drawn to making pieces that feel like small imagined landscapes rather than single motifs.
This one brings together water, movement, birds, trees and fossil-like plant forms — more like a fragment of estuary or shoreline memory than a straightforward scene.
I love building these little worlds through sgraffito line: fish moving through current, birds crossing overhead, and the shapes of land and weather stitched through the surface.
The finished pieces will be mounted and framed as one-off wall artworks, ready to hang.
I’m working towards a new limited collection of one-off sgraffito pieces inspired by British coastlines, rivers and small wild places. If you’d like first access when the next collection is released, the mailing ...link below

I’ve realised that the pieces I most want to make are not really about single motifs at all, but about small worlds.
Fish moving through water, birds crossing the sky, weather, current lines, trees, river edges, coastal paths — fragments of landscape brought together into one piece.
This new collection is gradually taking shape around those imagined places: part coastline, part estuary, part memory, part invention.
I’ll be sharing more of the finished work over the coming weeks before the collection is released.

Something new is beginning.
Over the last year I've been moving back towards the part of ceramics I love most – drawing.
Working beside the River Lune, surrounded by water, birds and changing skies, I've been developing a series of sgraffito pieces inspired by the British coastline and the wildlife that inhabits it.
Each piece begins with a simple sketch before being drawn directly into clay by hand.
Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing more of the process, the places that inspire the work, and some of the pieces that will form my next collection.

New work in progress.

Inspired by travels around Britain's coastline, these new sgraffito hangings explore landscape, wildlife and the sea through hand-carved line and pattern.
Part of a new collection currently developing in the studio.
