A few of our senior management team were out at the NMBS show this week, taking the opportunity to connect with some of our suppliers, explore new products, and stay up to date with the latest developments across the industry.

Events like these are a great way for us to strengthen relationships and ensure we continue bringing the best possible products and knowledge back to our branches and customers.

Its always good to see what’s new, what’s next, and how we can keep improving what we offer.

At the end of this month, we wish a very happy retirement to Keith Bateup who hangs up his handles and hinges after working in the Ironmongery industry for 50 years! Starting out at Bunces in 1976 on the trade counter, Keith has worked for various Ironmongers and Merchants throughout his working life, before joining us in 2023.

An amazing career, with a very broad network built up in the construction sector in Sussex and the wider Architectural Ironmongery industry nationally. There will be many who will miss him!

Since joining us over three years ago, Keith has become a hugely valued member of the team, developing our Ironmongery offering to a broader range of customers and imparting some of his extensive knowledge and customer service skills to other members of our team.

Part of his legacy is therefore a team ready to continue this after he leaves and offer the same great service and knowledge going forward. Please do get in touch as normal with any enquiries and Steve, David and the team will be in touch to assist you.

Thank you for everything, Keith. Wishing you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement 👏

Our Burgess Hill branch has had a refresh! 👀

We’ve recently given our branch in Burgess Hill a bit of an update, with a fresh coat of paint throughout the store and our signature G&S blue pillars now standing proudly inside the branch. The result is a brighter, cleaner space that we’re really proud of.

As part of the refresh, we’ve also introduced an improved paint and decorating showroom area 🎨 — making it easier to browse products, compare options, and get inspired for your next project. Whether you're a trade professional or tackling a DIY job, we’ve got everything you need in one place — and we can match any paint colour to help you get the perfect finish. Not to forget we’ve also expanded our range with some exciting new brands!

At G&S, we’re always investing back into our branches to make sure they’re welcoming, well stocked, and ready to serve both trade professionals and DIY customers.

And while you’re visiting, don’t forget there’s also a coffee shop beside the store ☕ — perfect for grabbing a drink while you pick up what you need.
Swipe through to see the outside and inside of the newly refreshed branch, and if you’re nearby, feel free to pop in and have a look around!

Let us know your thoughts on the reno! 👇
