After careful consideration, Secret World Limited has made the difficult decision to close its Langport Store.
This decision has been made as part of our long-term commitment to protecting the charity’s future. Following a detailed review of the store’s future operating costs and long-term sustainability, it became clear that continuing to operate the store could place increasing demands on the charity’s resources over time.
While the Langport Store has made a valuable contribution to our mission for many years, we have a responsibility to ensure that every charitable pound is used as effectively as possible. This is a proactive decision made to safeguard the charity’s long-term sustainability and ensure that our resources remain focused on our core purpose of rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing wildlife. It is not a response to an immediate financial issue, but a decision made to protect the charity’s future and avoid placing unnecessary pressure on charitable resources in the years ahead.
This decision is not a reflection of the dedication, commitment or hard work of our staff and volunteers. Their passion and support have played a vital role in the success of the Langport Store, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have done to support the charity and our wildlife rescue work.
The Langport Store has been an important part of the local community, helping to raise vital funds while providing a welcoming place for supporters to donate, shop and volunteer. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported the store over the years. Whether you shopped with us, donated goods, volunteered your time or simply helped spread the word, your support has made a genuine difference to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and conservation.
Although we are closing our Langport Store at this time, this does not mean we will never return to Langport in the future. This decision reflects what is sustainable for the charity today, and we will continue to review opportunities as the organisation grows and evolves.
Our supporters can continue to visit and support our charity shops in Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Glastonbury, where every purchase and donation continues to help fund our wildlife rescue work.
The Langport Store will officially close at the end of the trading day on Friday 31 July.
To mark the store’s contribution to the charity and thank everyone who has been part of its journey, we will be holding a small farewell gathering from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Saturday 1 August. We warmly invite our volunteers, staff, customers and supporters to join us for refreshments, including soft drinks and light snacks, as we celebrate the store’s achievements and say thank you for your continued support.
We remain committed to our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing wildlife and would like to thank all our supporters for standing with us as we take this important step to protect the charity’s long-term future.
