🐑🐑Our limited-edition yarns are spun from the fibres of regional and unusual breeds, with many classified as rare or endangered by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, helping to celebrate and preserve the diversity of Britain’s native sheep.

Our current collection of these special wools includes Bowmont/Zwartbles (pictured); Dartmoor/Exmoor/Zwartbles and Closewool; Yak/Shetland and Yak/Hebridean.

This adorable collection of three simple baby knits consisting of booties, a hat and mittens is our latest addition to our Baby and Children designs and can be made with 2 x 50g balls of Blacker Swan DK wool in your chosen shade. The kit includes three patterns which are worked mainly in classic stockinette stitch, making them quick and enjoyable projects for knitters of all levels.

🧶🧶Our popular worsted-spun Blacker Swan range combines fine, soft Dohne Merino fibre with a small amount (8%) of Shetland Moorit or dark Blue-faced Leicester. Merino is one of the best-known wool types and there are many breeds with varying levels of softness.

🐑🐑Our Dohne Merino comes from a single flock on a farm in the Falkland Islands. Originally developed in South Africa in the late 1930s as a dual-purpose breed for fine wool and meat, Dohne Merino sheep were introduced to the Falklands in the early 2000s.
