Some memories never fade.

When I was a child, my Nan and Grandad took me on my first major holiday to Florida. It was a trip that changed everything.

Walking into the world of Disney felt like stepping into another universe. The characters, the stories, the colours, the imagination... it completely captured me. Mickey Mouse wasn’t just a character to me. He became a symbol of creativity, adventure, and the magic that art can bring into our lives.

Looking back, I honestly believe that trip played a huge part in shaping the person and artist I would become. It planted a seed that grew into a lifelong love of drawing, creating, and telling stories through art.

This piece is part of my ongoing Inspirations Series, exploring the characters and moments that helped inspire the creation of Tarc the Robot. Here, I’ve brought Mickey and Tarc together on a draft board, showing how one simple character design sparked a lifetime of imagination.

More than anything, this painting is a thank you.

Thank you to Disney for inspiring me. Thank you to Mickey Mouse for igniting my creativity. And thank you to my Nan and Grandad for giving me an experience that helped set me on the path I’ve followed ever since.

Some characters entertain us.

Others quietly shape who we become.

As a child, I spent countless hours reading Peanuts comics and watching Snoopy and Woodstock on screen. There was something comforting about their world… gentle humour, friendship, imagination, and emotion hidden in the simplest moments.

This painting is part of my new Inspirations Series, a collection exploring the characters and stories that helped inspire me creatively, and ultimately played a part in the creation of Tarc the Robot.
It feels special to paint the characters that once filled my childhood with wonder. In many ways, this piece is a thank you. To the art, the comics, the cartoons, and the feeling they gave me when I needed it most.

Sometimes inspiration never really leaves us.
It just grows alongside us. 🎨🤖❤️

This painting is part of a collection I’ve been creating based around the things that inspired me growing up. Pop culture, cartoons, characters, trading cards, colour, imagination… all the little sparks that slowly shaped me into the artist I am today.

One of the biggest inspirations for me was Pokémon. Watching the series and collecting the cards as a kid completely pulled me into that world. I’ve always loved the huge range of creatures and characters, but also the vibrant colours and personalities behind them. Every card felt like opening a tiny universe.

This piece was inspired by my love for Pikachu, and the idea of combining that nostalgia with my own character, Tarc the Robot. I wanted the painting to feel warm, playful and full of companionship. Almost like two characters from different worlds meeting for the first time and instantly becoming friends. ⚡🤖💛

Every painting in this series reflects a piece of the journey that led me to creating Tarc, and reconnecting with the things that made me fall in love with art in the first place.

A little moment of joy from my recent visit to in Leamington Spa!

As always, the burgers were juicy perfection and those legendary fries? Absolutely to die for. While I was happily munching away, I spotted the brilliant wall covered in customer drawings and notes, I couldn’t resist adding my own contribution!

So here’s Tarc, heart glowing, proudly declaring his love for Five Guys. Because some things ( like perfectly seasoned fries and a warm, welcoming vibe ) just make your day brighter.

Thank you to the team at Leamington Spa for creating such a fun, creative space where even a little robot can leave his mark. You’ve got a fan ( and a tiny illustrated one ) for life! 🍔🍟

There’s something special about a first run… the quiet beginning before something finds its wings.

Meet Tarc on deck. ❤️🛹

These are the very first prototype skateboard decks, each one carrying a little piece of the journey. You’ll spot tiny imperfections in the graphics here and there, but honestly… they feel less like flaws and more like fingerprints. Proof they were part of the very start.

Tarc has always been about connection, love, and finding light in the messy bits of life, and these boards capture that perfectly. Not factory-perfect, but real. Warm. Human…. And robot.

If you’ve followed this story, these prototypes aren’t just decks… they’re chapters.

Every Sunday I get to share something with you that I’ve been working on, and that I’m proud of…

This illustration, drawn with love using pencils on high-grade artist paper, shows Tarc wrapped around the biggest, brightest heart he could find. Look at those gentle eyes, those careful black hands holding on so tightly—like he’s saying, “This love is for you, and I’m never letting go.”

Tarc started as a simple doodle years ago, but he has quietly become my constant companion, my reminder that even the smallest beings can carry the biggest feelings. He’s taught me that kindness, curiosity, and a willingness to hug the world are the most powerful things any of us—robot or human—can offer.

I hope this little scene wraps you in warmth today. Maybe it makes you smile, maybe it reminds you of someone ( or something ) you love with all your heart. Whatever it stirs in you, I’d love to hear it in the comments. Your words mean more to me than you know.

💖 In soft pencil strokes and quiet colours, two little moments of the heart came to life on paper. 💖

One whispers through the rain with a worn yellow umbrella held high:
“I will protect you… always.”

The other stands with arms wide open, heart glowing, gently pleading:
“Bring me to life.”

They remind me that even the smallest beings can hold the deepest feelings: the fierce promise to shield someone dear, and the tender hope to be truly seen and brought alive by love.

My adorable Tarc reminds me every day that it’s completely okay to feel anxious. The butterflies, the shaky hands, the racing thoughts — they don’t make you any less brave. In fact, they make your courage even more beautiful.

He sits there with his little red heart held close, choosing to be brave anyway. And that’s what real bravery looks like: not the absence of fear, but moving forward with love and hope tucked right inside your chest.

If you ever feel anxious today, I hope Tarc’s quiet strength wraps around you like a warm hug. You’re allowed to feel scared and still show up. You’re allowed to tremble and still shine. You are so much braver than you know. 💕

Tarc believes in you. And so do I.

Take a deep breath, hold your heart gently, and keep going — just like him. 🤍

These four little drawings are the first originals I’ve made in ages, and my heart feels so full seeing Tarc again — gentle, thoughtful, and full of that quiet love he always carries.

Each one is just 4.5” x 3”, drawn with pencils on canvas. There’s something so special about working small and intimate; every tiny line and soft shade feels personal.

These little pieces were created from the heart, the same way Tarc has always been — an extension of me, and hopefully a little friend for you too.

They’re perfect for framing, sticking on the fridge with a magnet, slipping into a bag so Tarc can travel with you, or gifting to someone who needs a soft reminder that they’re seen and loved.
