Children who read for just 20 minutes a day are exposed to nearly 2 MILLION words a year.

This statistic stopped me in my tracks.

Less than HALF of children in the UK read for pleasure.

And the data shows that children who DO read for pleasure at age 10 score significantly higher in maths, vocabulary, and spelling tests at 16 than those who don't.

So it's not just about loving books. It literally changes their outcomes.

This one is going to divide opinions... 👀

Children with a TV in their bedroom score 7 to 8 points LOWER on standardised reading and maths tests than children without one.

Not a tiny difference. 7 to 8 whole points.

Now, I'm not here to judge — parenting is hard and we all do what we need to do. But that's a pretty significant stat to sit with.
