Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum - Flaming Mask (1.75L) (175cl, 37.5%)

The Dead Man's Fingers team has released a series of limited edition 1.75 litre bottlings of its excellent spiced rum. Still built upon a base of a blend of Caribbean rum and some delicious spices, this one has been presented in a bottle featuring a flaming skull design on the label. Perhaps one for Halloween?

Pineapple, Seville orange, dried raisins dusted with cinnamon and black pepper. A touch of creamy vanilla develops later on.

This gift pack from Crystal Head features a bottle of the fantastic Canadian vodka, made with Newfoundland water and filtered seven times (three times through Herkimer diamonds), presented in a bottle shaped like a skull. Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvee 75cl with Gift Box

Champagne Bollinger was founded in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger, and soon earned a reputation for quality. Under subsequent generations its reputation has gone from strength to strength, and today it is one of the most prestigious of all Champagne brands. Stylistically, Bollinger are renowned for their rich and savoury style of wines, dominated by Pinot Noir and subject to oak fermentation and extensive lees maturation. Bollinger Special Cuvée is the producer’s flagship release and an iconic Champagne in every sense. Biscuity and toasty on the nose, Special Cuvée suggests notes of toffee, orange peel, pear and hazelnut. Crisp, long and textured on the finish, it would make a welcome gift.

Forest Gin (70cl, 42%)

Forest Gin is family-created small batch gin, produced by Lindsay and Karl Bond. To make it, they steep some classic gin botanicals (including organic juniper berries and coriander seeds) in organic grain spirit. They then take a pestle and mortar to bundles of botanicals which they forage from the Macclesfield Forest when they can - this includes wild bilberries, gorse flowers, raspberries and local moss, among others. This is distilled through their own copper condenser and blended with local spring water to bring it down to 42% ABV.

The distinctive English Porcelain bottles feature a screen-printed design by Suzy Taylor of a weasel among the flora of the forest. Weasels are awesome. This is a fact.

Fragrant and forest-y, earthy moss kicks things off, swiftly followed by subtle fruity notes, liquorice and a burst of cinnamon, with lingering piney juniper.

Cambridge Distillery Three Seasons Gin (70cl, 45%)

Three Seasons Gin comes to us from the Cambridge Distillery (it's in Cambridge, funnily enough), and it features a host of brilliant botanicals, including the likes of spring lemon verbena, summer rose, and autumnal blackberry leaf. If you noticed the seasons mentioned in those botanicals, you'll probably be able to figure out why it's called Three Seasons Gin. Incredible for Martinis, this stuff.

The name comes from the flavour profile. Each sip is like a walk through spring, summer and autumn – a lengthy, elegant procession of flavours from bright lemon verbena to opulent rose, and finally, herbaceous blackcurrant leaf. It’s a delicious sensation best experienced via a very frosty, ultra-dry martini (keep the bottle in the freezer for optimum enjoyment).

Malecon Seleccion Esplendida 1976 (70cl, 40%)

A 1976 vintage rum from Panama's Malecon and its Seleccion Esplendida range. Malecon take plenty of influence from Cuban rum production methods, so don't be surprised to find similarities between this ones and your favourite Cuban rums. Intensely flavoursome stuff, as you'd expect from such a lengthy maturation.

Caperdonich 21 Year Old - Secret Speyside Collection (70cl, 48%) 

The door of the Caperdonich Distillery closed many moons ago, but bottlings of its whisky still make their way into the world from time to time - and that's a marvellous thing! This one is a 21 year old unpeated Caperdonich, aged in first-fill American oak barrels and bottled as part of Chivas' Secret Speyside Collection.

Nose: Aromas of zesty orange and barley sugar followed by notes of lemon curd.

Palate: Poached pear and vanilla with a delightful background of floral herbs.

Finish: Long, sweet and smooth.

A jaw-dropping Bowmore here that's seen over half a century of ageing! Distilled all the way back in 1965, some of the first spirit to pass through the new stills that were installed that year. After a whopping 52 years in a single Oloroso sherry cask, the Islay single malt bottled up, with an outturn of just 232 bottles. The impressive whisky was given an equally impressive wooden presentation box to rest in, looking as handsome as you'd expect.





Nose: Fragrant fruits, sweet beeswax and intense dark chocolate.

Palate: Burnt heather and fresh spring flower.

Finish: A touch of jasmine, dried fruit and apricots. Best savoured neat.
