Worst Christmas Ever! pulls from across both. The perennial fan favorites are all here: “Sister Winter,” “Put The Lights On The Tree,” “Only At Christmas Time,” and the title track, “That Was The Worst Christmas Ever!.” As is “Justice Delivers Its Gift,” Sufjan’s ecclesiastical take on the Burl Ives classic, “Silver & Gold,” “Christmas In The Room,” “Silent Night” and more.

The volumes these songs come from were made with a long running cast of collaborators, including Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire, Cat Martino, Gabriel Kahane, Casey Foubert, James McAlister, Rosie Thomas, Marla Hansen, Olivier Manchon, Sebastian Krueger, and Daniel, Elin, Lilly, and Ida Smith of Danielson.

Speaking to Vulture about his holiday catalog in 2022, Sufjan put it plainly: “There are no rules and regulations when it comes to Christmas culture.” His unguarded enthusiasm for the genre itself, the freedom he takes in celebrating with both reverence and rebellion, and his belief that Christmas music holds a multiplicity of sacred and secular significance that is ultimately ours for the taking make his Christmas catalog a standout.

DYLAN JOHN THOMAS • LIVE AT JUMBO 🐘
We’re excited to welcome Dylan John Thomas to Jumbo Records for a very special acoustic performance and signing, celebrating the release of his new album ‘Nothing Here Worth Taking’.

For entry to the gig, pre-order ‘Nothing Here Worth Taking’ on Indies Clear Vinyl, Black Vinyl or CD, on sale Friday 11th September at 10am.

Dylan John Thomas returns with his electrifying second album, ‘Nothing Here Worth Taking’. Entirely written by Dylan, the album was recorded at Magic Box studios over the past year. Anchored by the gravitational pull of his unmistakable vocal and longstanding relationship with the acoustic guitar, the 10-track set is gritty, raw and emotionally charged. A rousing, carousing blast of brass, blues, banjo, piano and classic, retro- futureproof, singalong songwriting. It marks a bold step forward for one of Scotland’s most compelling voices.

Includes the singles ‘Heaven Knows You’re Lonely’ and ‘Got You On My Mind’.

Opal Records, the label founded by Brian Eno in 1988 as an extension of his artistic world is returning after more than three decades. Launching with the reissue of acclaimed and much loved Eno album, Another Day On Earth (2005) - unavailable outside of Japan for close to twenty years.

Another Day on Earth (2005) was Brian Eno’s first song-based album since Nerve Net in 1992, and remains one of his most acclaimed solo records. It featured a young Jon Hopkins alongside long-standing collaborators Nell Catchpole, J. Peter Schwalm and Leo Abrahams, with lyrics co-written by Michel Faber and Danny Hillis. The album was launched with a public conversation between Eno and the writer Michael Bracewell at the Marble Palace in St Petersburg and its cover photograph was taken by Eno himself in Beijing, during his first Chinese audio installation in the city’s Ritan Park.

The 2026 reissue will be available across all formats for the first time in almost two decades, and includes the previously Japan-only bonus track ‘The Demon of the Mines’.

Group A.D. return with ‘Bird of Parallax’, their second offering of new music in 2026 and the follow up to their acclaimed debut EP ‘Colour Space Transform’. Following a run of sold out gigs in Leeds, Manchester and London, as well as support slots with English Teacher, ‘Bird of Parallax’ arrives as part of a double A-side single with second track ‘Sliinky’ following in October.

Group A.D. is a brand new Leeds based project. The name stands for The Group For Action & Dance, and their music sits somewhere between dubbed out, psychedelic no-wave and spaghetti-western orchestral maximalism.

On the new single, Aidan from the band says:

“This is our wildest track so far. We wrote ‘Bird of Parallax’ earlier this year in the hills of Andalusia. The studio was isolated, surrounded by almond fields, and we didn’t have any guitars- so we drove to the nearest town to borrow the only electric guitar in the area. The song started with a small loop containing the track’s eerie vocal sample and strange guitar slides, and soon mutated into something between abrasive machine-music and a 60’s film score theme.

One of the cornerstones of Group A.D.’s music is the presentation of musical ideas from several alternative viewpoints, often within the same song. The track’s lyric ‘bird of parallax / coming in to view’ sums this up- a slight shift in position can completely change your perspective. The field cannot be seen well from within the field. Sometimes you need to shift your view…”

Throughout the song, samples punctuate- a bizarre computer narration blurting the track’s refrain, ravey, 90’s style vocal trills, and Group A.D.’s trademark spoken word in the track’s climax, declaring ‘this is the cutting age and the days of flower power are over’. They are indeed.
