Another piece for the upcoming Left Bank Leeds Plant Folk Fair. This print is inspired by Anice and her stunning floral arrangements. The piece here is based on the timeless work of Jan Van Huysum. I’ve called it ‘An Entertaining Puzzle’, or ‘Een Vermakelijke Puzzel’, a wonderful phrase used to describe Van Huysum’s masterpiece, Flowers in a Terrocotta Vase by National Gallery

I would like to call this painting - the little bu**er, but in reality I’m calling it ‘buy myself flowers’. It was a pain to paint but maybe because it involved a lot of indecision. It’s unapologetically colourful and feminine. I often shy away from colour in life despite loving it, so I wanted this piece to be delicately loud if that’s even a thing?

Also this piece looks 1000 times better in real life but I can’t capture the vibrancy and I’m tired.
