Matthew popped into The Works at Crossgates yesterday to collect his brand‑new Guinness World Records 2027 book, where he’s officially recognised in this year’s edition.

We’re delighted to be welcoming Crossgates resident Matthew Akpan to The Works to pick up his very own copy of the 2027 Guinness World Records book!
Matthew, who has lived in Crossgates for more than 30 years, has achieved an incredible sporting milestone by breaking the record for the fastest male marathon runner with an intellectual impairment at the London Marathon and now his achievement is officially recognised in the new Guinness World Records book. 📖
We’re proud to be part of this special moment and to celebrate an incredible achievement right here in the Crossgates community. ❤️
