Whirl to Win is landing at Merrion from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 September, giving students four days to take on our Student Cyclone Challenge.

Here’s how it works:
- Make a purchase at any Merrion Centre store.
- Show your receipt to the team.
- Step inside the Cyclone.
- Then you’ve got 20 seconds to grab as many flying balls as you can.

Catch a red ball and you could walk away with one of the prizes and offers up for grabs.

And there are some seriously good ones.

K-pop fans in Leeds… there’s a lot happening behind these doors. 👀

We took a look inside K-pop Korner UK at Merrion to see what’s new, and if you’re the sort of person who keeps an eye on the latest Korean releases, this is somewhere worth knowing about.

The shelves are packed with official albums, signed releases, collectibles, lightsticks and merchandise imported directly from Korea, with new drops arriving regularly.

And STAYs might want to pay particular attention right now. Following the latest Stray Kids release, there’s new album stock and plenty of collectables to hunt through too.

K-pop Korner isn’t just about what’s on the shelves either. It’s become a place for fans to meet, trade, discover new releases and generally spend far longer browsing than they originally intended.

Burley Banksy is taking over a pop-up space at Merrion for three days this September, bringing his collection of Leeds United-inspired artwork, memorabilia and gifts down to the Lower Ground outside Morrisons.

If you know his work already, it’s a chance to see more of it in one place. If you don’t, this could be a good time to discover an independent Leeds artist whose work celebrates the club, its supporters and the city around it.

There’ll also be up to 26% off selected canvases across the weekend.

We took a walk around Heron Foods at Merrion to find out, and picked out five WOW Deals currently available for £1 or less.

You’ve probably seen these all over TikTok, but did you know you can find them right here at Merrion? 👀🥭

The viral fruit-shaped ice creams have landed at Sing Kee Chinese Supermarket, and apparently they’re selling out nearly every day.

So we went looking.

Head through the doors, past what might be one of the biggest selections of ramen you’ll see in Leeds, keep going towards the freezers at the back… and that’s where you’ll find them.

There are three flavours to choose from:
🥭 Mango
🍓 Strawberry
🍑 Peach

Each one is shaped to look like the fruit itself, and they’re vegan-friendly and halal-friendly too.

Sing Kee is one of the few places in Leeds where you can currently get your hands on them, so if they’ve been appearing on your TikTok feed and you’ve been wondering what all the fuss is about, now you know where to look.

Got a little one aged between 6 months and 4 years? This could be worth knowing about. 👶💚

The University of Leeds is currently running its Growing Well Study at Merrion Centre, and local families are being invited to take part.

The research is looking at children’s growth, dental health and diet, helping researchers build a better understanding of how experiences early in life can influence health and development as children grow.

Taking part involves a short appointment with the research team at Merrion, including simple measurements such as your child’s height and weight.

As a thank you for giving your time and helping with the research, participating families can receive up to £50 in shopping vouchers.

So, if you have a child aged 6 months to 4 years, or know another Leeds family who does, it could be worth taking a look.

And after three decades, there isn’t much Pete hasn’t been asked to fix, from last-minute graduation heels to shoes for a production of The Sound of Music.
